You should play the Protectorate of Menoth because:
1) You like setting things on fire.
2) You like knights, paladins, clerics, and 'Jacks who fit that motif.
3) You like setting things on fire.
4) You want to run 'Jacks better than most factions, with only Cyriss really beating them.
5) You like setting things on fire.
6) You like a heavily synergistic faction that is 'ok' unit per unit, but combine to create a whole greater than the sum of its parts.
7) You like setting things on fire.
8) You like 'Casters that are good at support and are less about themselves. Some CAN become personally powerful (pFeora, Reznik), they still can support their army or their 'Jacks when not doing so.
9) You like setting things on fire.
10) You like an aesthetic that leans heavily towards the ornate and gothic and think it looks cool.
.... oh, did I mention setting things on fire?
Do NOT play Protectorate if:
1) Religious zealotry in fiction/fluff puts you off.
2) You dislike fire.
3) You aren't willing to sacrifice your troops for the greater glory of Menoth.
4) You don't like Menofixes (seriously, they're on everything)
You should play the Kriels of the Trollbloods because:
1) BEER!
2) BRAWLING!
3) KILTS!
4) MORE BEER!
5) Because Tough rolls made all that hard work your opponent just did meaningless.
6) Having tough as nails infantry is fun.
7) Because tossing a caber in someone's face before they get swarmed makes you smile.
8) You like the mildly goofy, yet tragic nature of the models, and the trollbloods themselves.
9) Because if riding a bison into battle is wrong, you don't want to be right.
10) Because you have a character beast that can one round a colossal (Mulg).
... and did I mention beer?
You should NOT play Trollbloods because of:
1) You don't like paying a premium for having larger models (as in $$$ due to production costs).
2) You don't like playing a synergistic faction that relies on important support models.
3) Failing Tough rolls will get to you.
4) You want to play battle box games -- seriously, theirs is lousy. Each model is good individually, but do NOT work together.
5) Painting kilts
In the end it's YOUR choice. If someone chooses for you, then you won't love them, and they'll be just another pile of plastic/metal parts in an eBay auction. Find what fits you and embrace it.
