So I get really bored and come up with crazy fluff armies. Wondering if this particular one may have some legit game play.

General idea is just a lot of marines with lots of dakka

Thoughts idea or a straight jacket is appricated

Legion of the damned is worthless I would trade them out for more sternguard. Take those lascannons and move them to the devastator squad. Use the extra on more troops (either scout or tactical).

Why don't you max out the sternguards' speacial weapons?

I'm not really seeing how this is a fluff army, it looks like a bunch of random units thrown together without any real concept besides "these are units I like".

Coming firmly from the camp of fluff over effectiveness I am not sure I see any fluff in this list at all. Please direct my misguided judgement towards the storyline if I have missed it, but I can't see it.

A las cancon +stern is 40 Dev + las is 51

B no special weapons because I was thinking mostly long range stand off army

C fluff is I just finished reading the Legion of the Damded novel and I like my normal Pedro army so I figured if the CFists where going to be holding the line and any one would come save them it would be the LotD. that's my fluff.

No, I can see the idea behind the fluff, Legion of the Damned appearing to assist the beleaguered Crimson Fist defenders for their own apparent goals.

But the fluff is harmed in a way by the doubling of Sternguard and Thunderfire Cannons. If I am right, the Crimson Fists got b%*$slapped by a lucky Ork WAAGH! on Rynn's world and therefore lack a lot of tech and manpower, therefore, multiple Vets would be unusual as would multiple Scouts as they lost their Fortress Monastery and thus the main place to alter new recruits.

My two cents through, but keep at it, much prefer an army that had a theme added to it rather than just some tournament spam list, but I am pretty biased.....

Although I really hate the almost required addition of them an ADL would really fit this army well. As long as during the battle the Legion of the Damned didn't hunker down behind it as well.

nah what would be the fun of having a Lotd behind a wall. the vets are the last survivors of the ork waagh and the scouts are the few they have managed to get while trying to rbuild there ranks. its why I had no tac squads. as the Cfists stubbornly refuse to yield behind their falling walls. (adl if I use it aka torny) the Lotd would suddenly arrive behind the enemy classically saving the day =D. or so the epic battle goes in my Head =P

I can see the fluff. Hope this army is just for fun though. I see too much sadness getting dropped on you if you took this to any kind of tourney.

yeah very fluffy I usually play it against my friends noise marine spam or Ksons spam. its fun for both of us =P.

I am always wondering if I can take my fluff lists to Tournies. I usually wake up at that point and pack my elder at that point =D
