So, I've had my Necron air force tournament list pretty much locked down for the past couple of months - started testing it just before the Tau codex came out. As long as my opponent doesn't take Tau as an ally I can either hold my own or beat the other guy into the dirt depending on how the dice are rolling. If Tau get's involved, even as an ally, I get shredded.
I'm planning on attending the
NOVA Open, a most excellent event, at the end of August and I'm concerned I might be walking into a buzz saw all weekend long. I certainly don't intend to walk away with any prizes (well, maybe a door prize

but it's no fun being completely blasted off the board either in the majority of my games which is what I'm concerned about. My other option is to drop the cronair list and go with, gasp, a more balanced list and probably take some allies myself. I've tried running wraith wings at other smaller tournies but 6E is just too shooty or at least I'm very good at failing 3+. I also seem to run into psykers with enfeeble a lot which makes wraiths even worse :(
My list related dilemma is this: do I stay the coarse with a well honed list knowing I will pretty much always lose to 2 Broadsides, 1 riptide, 1 commander and a handful of pathfinders or do I crank out a new list?
Second question: How many of you are taking Tau as allies in your tournie lists?
