you cant take irridum or neuroweb signature systems. also your markerlights can only target one unit a turn.

Ah, forgot about the signature systems. As for the markerlights, you're right but that's the price of giving them LD10 and BS5...I'll edit the list.

What unit do you need to put 10 marker lights on? I'd never run more than 5-6 MLs with a Drone commander.

I would go with missile or plasma on the troops. You've basically got overcosted Fire Warriors with that build.

Having 1 unit of Broadsides as your only AA is a bad idea. Riptides can't do AA.

Also why the VTs on the Riptides? I would drop them. Then I'd get more AA.

Give the commander a target lock so he can shoot at a different target than the drones. I would also cut it to 6 drones and get another pathfinder squad. You lack reliable anti air as well. Give the broadsides velocity trackers. Last, I would specialize your crisis teams a little more. Maybe change a squad to fusions, another to missile pods, if you can shave the points.

Does a far sight enclave Broadside get to take more suit systems? I don't have the digital copy yet as I prefer a hard back.

in the reg codex my broad sides can take velocity tracker or early warning. Interceptor or skyfire but not both.

Am I missing something cause I don't have the Enclave codex??

Everyone's exalted yay!

Ok, target lock on and pathfinders in. Velocity tracker is off the Ion accelerator Riptides and on the Broadsides. I left it on the HBC Rip because; well, the HBC Nova charged is awesome and I needn't worry about Gets Hot because of ECPA. Heavy 12 Rending should be pretty good AA to go with the Broadsides.

As for the Burst Cannon crisis, I hear ya. Problem is, I do need anti-horde and if I'm not going gunline, this seems to me the best way to do it because I'm scoring. I know Burst Cannons aren't that great, but, if I don't want to bring a gunline of Kroot or fire warriors, what's my alternative for anti-horde?

As for diversification for the sake of it, why? My Ion accelerators can Nova and drop AP2 insta-death templates for the elite stuff. And I've got TL fusion on 3 Riptides and the commander for AV14. Plus Smash attacks if I'm up against tri-raider or something and that still isn't enough.

Thanks for the input guys, you've helped already. Any retorts?

Oh darn, you're right, not both. Gotta edit.

Now my question is, what's better on the Broadsides, VT or EWO? Being able to fire at that Helldrake before it gets to shoot its baleflamer could save me a unit of crisis. Do they have enough shots to not worry about only snap shooting?

Sadly, I think we're going to see a lot of trip-riptide lists this year at NOVA. I run a cronair list that will be shelved for NOVA :(

Why would you shelve your Cronair? Trip Riptide struggles against Cronair. Whilst Broadside spam does cause more problems it just means you're on sun even footing rather than auto win.

Crisis suits with burstcannons are not as great at Horde control as you'd think. In practice the superior range on Missilesuits actually helps more. Or go double flamer and commit to horde killing. 3 suits 5 flamers, 3 twinlinked and one burst cannon for range and then you'll bone a horde. For instance say you get 6 hits per flamer against a horde of 30 gaunts. That 18 tw/l hits plus 12 normal thats 24 dead plus 4 burst cannon shots. No way for that horde to get you now. You'd only need 1 such unit and it would even do a job on MEQ due to the amount of wounds you cause.

The Earth caste Burst cannon Riptide is the only Riptide that does anything against flyers. As for the Broadsides I would go with EWO. You don't want that Drake to even fire once, plus Broadsides kill flyers without VT due to volume of shots and twin linked. Hence the VT is generally a poor upgrade for them.

Taken to heed! And exalted of course.

Am I looking good now? Can I start to build these things? Lol. Why do I do this to myself? Build, paint and learn to play at a high level in a month. I must be a masochist.

Riptide can only have two systems not three. I would only get one flamer crisis team IMO. You are risking two units getting charged and most likely wiped.

Thanks! I think I'm legal now. I do understand the risk of the multiple flamer squads but I need a way of dealing with 120 kroot. They're 99 a squad so if they can make up their points in kroot and pin them back then they did their job.

The issue with 6 flamers is you can only kill models in range. The chances are you'll waste a lot of wounds as you can only kill the models within 8" of your crisis team. Swap one flamer in the squad to a burst cannon and then you can kill models up to 18" of your unit which should be enough.

Why burst cannon? Why not pay 5 more points for the airburst? Same range and likely to do more damage than a burst cannon plus it ignores cover like the flamers.

@The Shrike

I'll be at Nova too and this is what I'm basically building my list around:

-Ability to inflict 10 T6 2+/5++ in 2 turns
-Ability to kill 100 T3 5+ Sv models over a game
-Ability to Strip 12 Hull Points in 2 turns
-Ability to kill a Wraithknight in 1 turn without heavily impacting the rest of my force.

From there it deviates based on codex or type of force you wanna run.

Quick changes I would make to your list:

1. Swap the commander weapons from fusion to missile pods. That way your not close enough for small arms to be taking out your marker drones.

2. Swap Early Warning System on your Broadsides with Target lock. There might be turns where you want to shoot at 4 different targets and this allows it to happen.

3. Save points by dropping the drones to minimum size and adding drones to the commander.

4. Personally I'd swap out a Riptide for a 6-man w/2 Gundrone Stealth team.

Thanks hulksmash! I'm gonna take another hard look at the list tomorrow when I have time. Quick question though; if I give the Commander drones, isn't he barred from joining another squad (the ML drones) at tht point?

Nope, the drones attach to whatever he attachs to. Pg.33 of the codex.
