Hey, new to the forum (well I signed up a while ago and didn't use it), and I need help. So far I have a 15pts army consisting of Absylonia, angelius and carnivean (a list we put together in a FLGS)> Now I love warbeasts and am not too fond of infantry, and have been lead to believe only absylonia is good at this. Now I am not sure what to do next, my ideas are this, and if they are good please tell me and if not please advise Thanks for being so helpful!

Idea 1:
Get some different warlocks to expermiment with (the battle engine version of lylyth and thargosh both have the same warbeast points).

Idea 2:
Do a tier 4 army list at 25pts
Absylonia
Carnivean
Angelius
Shredder x4
The Forsaken x2

or

Absylonia
Carnivean
Angelius
Ravagore

or

pThargrosh
Carnivean
Angelius
Typhon

I am worried second and third list is too few models for 25pts and so would be awful. So what do you think?

Most epic win: Clanrat slaves killed high elf prince on griffon in one turn.
Most epic fail: Vermin lord only killed 8 warriors of chaos with irresistible dreaded thirteenth and was subsequently sucked into the warp via mishap.

Anyone? Any ideas? :(

Normally I advise against beginners playing theme forces but that one looks like the most reasonable option you have right now. shredders are pretty great for their points and would help you spread the fury generation around a bit. They also help you deal with the higher model count armies you'll start to see at 25 points.

You most certainly will want other warlocks soon so it might behove you to go ahead and pick up a pair of new warlocks and a shepherd (a great one-point option for when points are uneven) as well, depending on budget of course.

Eventually you'll need units to at least hold the line but with legion you don't need to overdo it.

saeryn and ethags run all beasts really well, elylyth usually is all beasts + unit of striders and evayl wants one tarpit unit

everybody wants the spawning vat

the T4 list seems to be the best of the group, as you grow you're going to want forsaken or shepards anyway

As Dais said, the tier 4 list really isn't that bad of a start, especially if you are interested in warbeasts (as Abby loooooves her warbeasts). You might want to shave off one of the shredders in favor of something else just to add a bit of diversity to your list, but otherwise it looks like it would be solid.

Is tier 4 absylonia effective? She cant take any units what so ever in a tier 4 list so does this mean she is bad?
Basically I havent actually had a game yet.... I have got the primal book and army book, and bought 15pts. I know there are some (though very few) tournaments at 15pts but I do not imagine it is a common game size. I was thinking of either that tier 4 list, or:

15pts
eThag
angelius
scythean

or

25pts
Absylonia
angelius
seraph
forsaken
Carnivean

I honestly can't say for certain how well Abby runs at T4 in larger games, but I imagine the list would be effective at least up to 35 points, possibly higher if you decide to include some anti-infantry beasts to compensate for your own lack of infantry. Since you're going to be including several beasts anyway, and since both of our fury management pieces are allowed, you should be okay with adding in some extra beasts to handle infantry flood, heavy armor infantry, etc.

Again, this is theoretical as I haven't had much of a chance to mess around with Absylonia, so take it with a grain of salt. Maybe someone else can vouch for or completely debunk my advice.

Ok, so the consensus seems to be torn between another warcaster, and the tier 4 list and nobody has said anything about the seraph list.... I want to run pure warbeast armies and have them be effective, thats all.
