I may be getting a good deal on the assault on black reach models. I mainly want them for the marines. I know they are meant to be Ultramarines but I do not want them for Ultras. Looking at photos the Commander and Dreadnaught have ribbons with Ultra on them. Are these part of the sculpt? Just trying to determine how difficult it would be to un ultra them before I buy them.

thanks

There are no Ultramarines or any other chapter stuff on them.
Dark vengeance are specifically Dark Angels, earlier boxed sets were all generic marines so you'll have no work to do.

Hmm thought I'm my set some of the marines had U's on their shoulder pads....

For cheapies they are very nice marines.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
I think one of the paint sets had moulded Ultramarine symbols, the Black Reach set had none - I bought two of these boxes when they came out.

Some of the models in the box contain UM specific symbols on their left shoulder pads. I'm sure with a little bit of work you can either shave it off, or fill in the area with greenstuff. I dunno.

Thought they just had the Codex Standard Tactical markings on one shoulder. Unless your making a chapter that doesn't follow codex guidelines you should be ok!

There are no Ultramarine specific markings on any of the models in the AOBR set.

Yes, there are tactical squad arrow markings on the marines, but no chapter markings - anywhere.

I agree with this. I play Ultramarines and all my Chapter markings on these models are freehands. Of that I'm sure.
