Can't get my head around the colorscheme I want to use for my dark eldar. Before hand / still do want them to be based on a vision of the white seers (as I plan to ally farseer etc) but at the same time I don't want the miniature to be completely white. I can't think what to put for the leather but it I'm reluctant to make it a black dry brush gray, black ink leather look as the skin color for my DE are more 'drow' like then the average DE @.@
The miniatures will have glow effect on when they are finished and such which will be green. Scheme designer is telling me to use yellow, and I despise yellow xD

The best thing you could do is to slap on some colours you like and go from there, imo.
Trial and error is the best way!

Try a flesh toned wash on the leather. Fluff wise you could say its made from human skin.

I had considered a flesh tone, it could work though it would be more of a brown considering I doubt it would be worn wet xD, that said The color I pick will have to be mildly represented on the kabalites and vehicles as well.. I really want to avoid going for black leather with white / pink highlighted armor plates >w<

For drow skin you can use a 1:3 mix of GW ratskin flesh and macharius standard grey, shaded with P3 flesh wash with a little GW naggaroth night and highlight by adding VGC bonewhite to the base mix.

To go with the purple you can use red and a bright yellow-green (not sure what the current paint is, but I'm thinking somewhere between Scorpion green and Bilious green). If you use the red for the leather, any green accents will really pop off the model since a bright yellow-green would be a nearly complementary color to both the red and the purple. I did red armor on a Drazhar model I painted for a guy and I went really dark with it but built the highlights up on the edges of his armor. I think dark red works well for DE.

I was trying to reserve green for the OSL though red would work quite well.
Red leather, white plates maybe
Red leather, black plates?
Obvious highlight on the plates
I was trying to avoid using black so much cus I have to keep in mind whatever colors I use will be on the vehicles as well >w<

Don't forget, you can throw around some metallics to balance the color load. If you go with gold tones that gets you a 'yellow' without being yellow.

Hi ! Some thoughts that might help you (or not) : 1 - Purple works pretty well with yellow, but you don't like it, so... 2 - Purple also works pretty well with greens. If the purple is dark, use sort of light green. I use this color combination on my Eden models, and also on my BFG fleet. You can check my gallery to see examples ( right here and here ) 3 - White is a pain in the a$$ to paint, plus... 4 - If you want to use glow effects, i'd recommend to avoid really bright colors such as white or yellow, to help the glow effect "pop" from the model 5 - Do a test model. I am starting a new army (Dark Eldars ) and I spend several days to only find the color scheme. I new I wanted to use red as main color, so I started from that. I took a piece of paper and put some red paint on it. Then I made splatters of other colors around that, to see what worked and what didn't. Next step is to use a model and sacrifice him for the greater good of the colour scheme. Paint it, take a picture, repaint it if necessary, try several schemes. That's the best way to go.

Thats a good point, but I don't know how I would relate that to the vehicles? They have large open surfaces to think about.
Though I am fairly fond of a raspy gold color might be quite nice.

I already have one sacrificed xD I will give green and red a little experimental go but in my mind I can't see it panning out @.@
