I just woke up from a power nap after my early shift at the hospital dreaming of taking observations. That is things like blood pressure, pulse rates, oxygen levels etc. Is this a sign of needing a holiday fro work? Anyone else here dreaming about your work?
Just as a side note I have dreamt about the setting before, this is the first time dreaming about the actual tasks involved in the day to day work.

Dreaming about stuff is just a way of handling stuff, not a sign for needing a break, don't worry.

we have always referred to that as "working in your sleep" in my family, and the one in question always complains of feeling like they had no rest the night they worked in their sleep..
My pops claims hes figured out a lot of problems on jobs this way. I would agree with sig, don't worry.

What an eerie thread, I had a dream just last night that my entire batch of bread was over-proofed and set me behind many hours. I'm a baker, and when this happens, it is a major setback. Then I woke up and realized it was all a dream and I'm not in deep GAK.

Well I worked for customer service in a large payroll company and it was very hectic during year end to the point where I would dream I was helping clients. I would then wake up and go back to sleep - as I was drifting back to sleep.... I would resume helping those "clients".
It was incredibly annoying, thankfully I've moved on to better things.

Oh man, do I ever. I don't have the job you have, and I give you major points for what you do, but my wife and I are always working.
We teach world dance, have two dance troupes, and host events. When we are not in the studio, or when I am at my other job, we are still working, and promoting.
Any downtime we get, we crash...and then work on things we had to put on the back burner.

My company makes equipment to tear things up.
I check that equipment and test it (among other things).
I am a bit disturbed by some of the "test material" that gets into those machines in my sleep.
Though the "Montey Python" catapulted cow going into the machine was refreshing(?!?!)...
I figure that dreams are the "sandbox" for the brain to exorcise your demons or work things out and it is all good.

It's a typical example for a dream the OP described. Often, our brain deals with problems we don't actively think of at day and in sleep, you start dreaming about such cases...a VERY rough description of such dreams is that they are some kind of coping mechanism.
