Hello there, Ladies and Gentlemen! My name is Alex Huntley, and I am the founder of Warploque Miniatures - creating unique and characterful fantasy miniatures for gamers, painters and collectors. ArcWorlde is a fun, quick and easy-to-learn skirmish game set within the eponymous fantasy realm.With this Kickstarter I aim to fund the production of a distinctive range of miniatures, as well as a 160-page, full-colour, A5 hardback rulebook, packed with artwork, text, and the entire set of rules needed to play your ArcWorlde games.

WE’VE DONE IT!

After an utterly fantastic effort from you beautiful people, the goal target has been smashed in just over two hours! This is truly amazing and I thank each and every one of you for your support. I can now produce ArcWorlde!

It doesn’t stop here though. If anything, the ArcWorlde Kickstarter is only just beginning.From this point on, any extra funds I raise will allow me to release all sorts of other awesome stuff that I couldn’t fit in the first four warbands. As you read this I am already working on a plethora of new models and other cool items.With your help I can bring them into the world!

So, what’s next I hear you ask?

What better way to play ArcWorlde, than with your very own set of special edition dice?
I have worked out a few different designs, however I just can't decide which one to choose.So, I've decided to let you make the final choice. If this goal is reached I will create a poll, on the Warploque Miniatures Facebook page, so that YOU can vote for the design that will be immortalised on the official ArcWorlde gaming dice. I'll post more details in a future update!
This stretch goal will be added to all pledges from SKIRMISH level and above for free.

The campaign is getting close to 200 backers now too. Wow!
Once the 200th backer gets on board I will be adding a little treat to all pledges at SKIRMISH and above. This wasn't actually planned - I'd only considered standard Stretch Goals - but seeing that backer total rise, realising that hundreds of people will be playing ArcWorlde soon... I think all of your generosity has rubbed off on me!

“ArcWorlde, is a skirmish tabletop game, set in the fantasy realm of ArcWorlde.

Although you can play it with any amount of players, and any amount of models, it’s usually with around fifteen models each, and features a model-by-model playing system.Each player takes turns to activate one of their models, in whatever order they choose. When a Captain (the leader of the force) or Hero (the minor characters) are activated the controlling player may activate a number of other models at the same time if they wish to do so. Up to six friendly models within 6” of the Captain or Hero’s base may be activated, performing their actions immediately as normal. In this way a player may co-ordinate their troops to attack their foes in waves but it comes at a price.

Activating your models in larger groups can leave your opponent free reign at the end of the turn if all your models have acted.Other unique aspects of ArcWorlde are smaller “side-quests” within the main game itself. These are entirely optional, and by no means an essential component of the ArcWorlde game, but they add flavour and fun if the players so wish!

There are Forgotten Tombs, where the player can delve inside to uncover lost treasure, or terrible evil. There are the Epic Duels, where ANY of the models on the board can engage in mighty combat, fighting to the death for glory and prestige. There are many more work-in-progress side quests, which will be added to the rulebook if the Kickstarter does as well as I hope!

For my Kickstarter I will be selling, amongst other things, box sets of “starter warbands”, with the option to add further models as the project progresses. The Kickstarter will begin with four initial warbands which include the Albionnican Empire, Halflings of Hobbleshire, Bayourks of the Cajon Swamplands and the Undead Pirates of the Black Coast, with 2 more being released if the Kickstarter goes well

Thanks to your brilliant support another Stretch Goal was passed earlier today.

The ArcWorlde rulebook will now get another eight pages, meaning that I can fit in all sorts of funky extra stuff.

A lot of people have been asking about the rules and other stuff that will go into the book. I totally understand your interest and I certainly want to give you a really good bit of insight. Rather than drip-feed piecemeal bits of information though, I'm building up a sizable update. This will go into plenty of detail on the entire rulebook and I don't think you will be disappointed.I will post it up on Thursday to celebrate the campaign being online for a week.

If the first few days are anything to go by, it will be a real week to remember! It's already been one of the most amazing times in my 20 years on this here planet and I suspect there's plenty more excitement ahead.

So what's next?

Well, the £15000 Stretch Goal is fast approaching and it's a real doozy!

This is one of my favourite ArcWorlde models so far and I hope that you guys will feel the same. You may also notice that this photo's a bit better than the ones we've been showing previously. Well, if you take a look at this full-resolution version you'll see just how much better!

Yup, we've finally got ourselves sorted with a really decent photography setup, so over the next few days expect lots of close-up pictures of the models we've already shown you. You'll be able to see them how they were meant to be viewed, in glorious pixel-sharp detail and better make your decision about which is the right warband for you.

Afternoon backers!

Alex here with another update from the currently overcast land of Nottingham. I tell you what, it's a welcome change from the heat we have been having, what with our Kickstarter War Room being pretty cramped, sweaty and poorly ventilated!

Death Kiwi!



Trying to work out how to segue elegantly to talk of a Death Kiwi from that... Yup, I'm failing. Best just whoop and holler, because thanks to your backing the £15k Stretch Goal has been passed.

You can now add this fine beast (measuring 63mm from beak to tail, 40mm high and cast in resin) to your pledge at any level for just £10. That's a saving of £3 on the recommended retail price of £13!

What's next?

Well, some folks have expressed a preference for resin miniatures instead of the new metal casting, so, I'm happy to say that if the project can reach £16500 I will be able to offer a limited number of resin cast perks.

These will be restricted in number so as not to make my resin caster - Alan at Black Dragon Castings - whimper and cry like a baby!

There will be options to buy resin versions of Adventurer and Onslaught, with the warbands and Kickstarter Exclusive model cast in the most exquisite resin. But, not fine, oh no, my models are too bulky and robust for that!

Keep an eye on the page, because as I said, availability will be limited.

After the resin Stretch Goal I have a second Promo Model to show and it's already fully sculpted and ready to go. Huzzah!

The next Stretch Goal, at £18000 is a new Promo Model - the legendary Albionnican war hero General Sir Eddard Sharp.

If this pledge is unlocked, I can offer an entirely new FIFTH warband to the ArcWorlde collection.

This warband consists of 7 miniatures:
1 Wild Elven Warchief
2 Wild Elven Warriors
2 Woodfiends
2 Stretch Goal models (1 Wild Elven Warrior and 1 Woodfiend)

As with the other warbands, they will be cast in white metal (but available in resin for the Resin Adventurer/Onslaught backers), and the “Reinforcement” stretch goals have already been included.

You will also be able to purchase the Troop models, as with the other warbands, but as the latest bunch of photos turned out pants, they will have to go up later
