Just thought I would share the list I used last night in a very good game with Tau.

== HQ ==
Hive Tyrant (1) - Scything Talons, Lash Whip And Bonesword, Wings, Psychic Scream, Leech Essence, Hive Commander = 255 pts.

== Elites ==
Doom Of Malan'tai Brood (130 pts.)
Doom Of Malan'tai (1) = 90 pts.
Mycetic Spore (1) = 40 pts.

== Troops ==
Broodlord Brood (328 pts.)
Broodlord (1) - Scything Talons = 62 pts.
Genestealer (19) = 266 pts.
Ripper Swarm Brood (3) = 30 pts.

== Fast Attack ==
Gargoyle Brood (19) - Toxin Sacs = 133 pts.
Tyranid Shrike Brood (9) - Devourer, Scything Talons = 315 pts.
Gargoyle Brood (19) - Toxin Sacs = 133 pts.

== Heavy Support ==
Mawloc (1) = 170 pts.

== Total ==
1494 pts.


We played bigs guns never tire. End of game would have been a 1-0 victory to Nids if I remembered to run the rippers 1" in the shooting phase on turn 4! As it was we drew as the Genestealers contested another objective against a big walking thing!

Was basically get as close as possible as soon as possible and smack them in CC, seemed to work rather well

What is a Doom Of Malan'tai Brood? Do you mean zoanthrope?

Mawlocs work well for the ever predictable tau defense line. How did you find the Shrikes worked? I'd try another mawloc.

Did you find the CC tyrant could have used some guns?

I think he means doom in a pod, check the point listing. It looks like just a confusing way to do the list.

I am very surprised that list did well against Tau, as most of it gets no save against the Pulse Rifle. The only scary unit is really the Mawloc.

I see what you're saying but you can't have two DoM in a list. So the list is illegal if that is the case.
