Hi,
I am waiting for an order to come from Triple Helix Wargames which I placed last week. Only communication I've had from them is the order is being processed. I have tried ringing them and none of the phone lines work, no e-mails get replied, FB messages haven't been answered and they use ebay as AA Wargames, but have no listings.
Is something going on?

I've always had very good service from them but I haven't ordered in a month or so. I know they had problems with their website ordering system a few weeks ago but they were still responding to emails fine. Looking at FB he did an update Wednesday so they're definitely still around.

Keep trying to phone them

Their phone lines don't even work. I know they are in the middle of a move and recently found out after I posted this message that they will re-open on Monday.

I've had no issues in the past, placed an order last week and they/the bank/internet error caused payment to be taken 3 times, the third time failed and resulted in a bank charge.
Same issues getting in touch, they stated online orders and enquiries would be sorted from the 29th July with the shop opening from the 5th Aug. It also stated their phone number is the same and still active.
No contact via email, FB and the phone lines are dead, not particularly happy with them right now.
Don't seem to have much luck with obline retailers for GW stuff, pretty much makes the couple of quid extra to walk into a store worth it.

Well they cannot answer as their phone lines do not work. I have e-mailed them several times and got no answer. Also posted messages on their FB page and got no replies.

A working phone line is kinda a prerequisite for an internet connection, so if their phones are down their internet almost certainly is too.

Not necessarily. I've had cable internet set up long before I had the phone set up in old apartments, and haven't even had a phone line for years. Obviously many stores still keep a landline, but I wouldn't say it was necessary to have net access.
Not to mention tablets, smartphones, laptops, and any number of other ways one might have internet access mid move.
Due to a flood back in April, I spent periods of time between then and now tethering all sorts of devices to my iphone to check email and whatnot.
Of course, a move is a busy, stressful and exhausting time.
Just sayin', a phone line isn't really the necessity it once was.

Certainly don't need a landline for internet connection, I havn't had a landline for nearly 8 years and have an internet connection.
Anyway, had an email today saying the triple billing was a fault with their system, no refund yet but.hopefully it'll be inbound, I pointed out the bank charge and didn't get a reply after that.
Progress at least.

For a business, in the UK, it really is. Not to mention British Telecom's legacy as a nationalised industry means they still control huge swathes of the infrastructure, and are hopelessly incompetent. I could fill pages with my experiences dealing with BT as a business owner and private consumer, but suffice to say their inability to connect a line when they said they would cost me almost a months trading is just one example.

I can only assume you're referring to mobile broadband? Or maybe satellite? Unless the business is itself mobile, there is no way that would be an economical way to run almost any business, let alone an online focused one, but would have been perhaps a way of keeping up with emails if their lines have been hit with a BTpocalypse (and if they were in the process of moving premises this is a high probability)
I'm only playing Devils Advocate really, the fact remains there are enough ways to get online these days that they could have kept at least some communication going if they wanted to, and, although I'm not certain it was them, I think Triple Helix may have taken over 6 weeks to reply to an email about stock availability I sent them earlier this year, only to answer in the negative.
I kind of decided not to use them after that (if it was them, but the more I think the more sure I become)

No problem with Devils advocate, you can always learn something new!
I was referring to Cable services such as virgin media, everything is piped through a dedicated server.

Yeah, I live in a part of the country that doesn't exist to those companies.
In fact, my best friend has just moved from a flat in East Putney in London, you could almost hit the Thames with a well thrown stone and about 3 tube stations away from the absolute centre of London.
No cable.

Er not really. You heard of mobile dongles or smart phones?

Lol, er, yeah.
I've spent the last 12 years selling them for a living.
They're both woefully inadequate for an online business needs, except as an emergency stop gap, as I've already mentioned.

The point is you can get internet using those. Smart phones are not hard to use for e-mail whether a stop gap or not. If on the right contract with the right company then a smart phone would be ok.
Anyway, I am not here to discuss internet connections and have now had an answer from Triple Helix.

Very unhappy with this company now, even though admitting their system was at fault as it took payment via paypal 3 times, they are now saying paypal is at fault as they where used, bollocks I say and so does paypal.
No idea where I stand and it seems to be 2 days between emails. Although they have agreed to refund he second payment, very kind!
Not just this company but I've never had so many issues with traders as I have from ones selling gaming stuff.
