Hey Guys,

I just got back into the hobby after several years away. Just moved to Florida recently. Any leads on where some highly active stores may be? I need to taste the sweet blood of Space Marines again!

Where in Florida? We're a big state and driving from north to south can take a good 6-8 hours depending on traffic.

In Central Florida we've got quite a few places. In Orlando you have Sci Fi City, Paladin Tech and Games, Games Workshop in Altaminte (north Orlando), Colliseum of Comics, and a new place called Mini Duels.

There are a handful in the Tampa area (Armada and one other place that escapes me for the moment) a couple good places on the Space Coast (Wizards Wall and Dogs of War), there is also a place in Tally and another in Gainesville. Not too sure about South Florida but I know there are a couple of great gaming spots because the core of 40k wrecking crew are there. There is a decent shop in JAX as well. It's all dependent on the city/county you're in.

Also if you're into Big tournaments, check out the Crucible. It's going to be a big weekend tournament in Orlando in Feb/Mar. It started out as just Warmachine, now it's Warmachine, 40k, and WHFB.

Good stores in the Tampa/st. Pete area. But I'll often make the drive to Sarasota for Darkside Comics. Good player base, great terrain and board selection, lots of space and a chill owner.

In Jacksonville, there are quite a few shops that support miniature gaming such as Borderlands, Phoenix Games, FLGS, and Hammerhall.

There are two conventions there in the summer that support gaming with Rapiercon (Historicals and 40K tournament) and Ancient City Con (40K and Warmachine/Hordes).

I play:
40K: Daemons, Tau
AoS: Blades of Khorne, Disciples of Tzeentch
Warmachine: Convergence of Cyriss
Infinity: Haqqislam, Tohaa
Malifaux: Bayou
Star Wars Legion: Republic & Separatists
MESBG: Far Harad, Misty Mountains

In FL the bay area has Anthem and Armada games, both of which I frequent. Of the two, Anthem is usually more competitive gamers, but you can find a friendly or a competitive game at either spot.

We also have two GTs that I would highly recommend, Crucible and BeakyCon. Crucible (1999+1) is first weekend of March and Beaky (2250) is the first weekend of October.

In other parts of the state, I know there's a store right by the University in Gainesille, and there's Sunshine Gaming down in Miami. There's also Birds of Paradise (might be in Dunedin?).
