Hi, I saw a similar post on this forum and wanted to upload my take of it to see what you think?

The thought process behind this was that I would aquire 6 boxes of sanguinary guard and use all the parts from there to make the army

5 boxes with 4 made up normally and the other using the Infernus Pistol from each box.

The sixth box would make Commander Dante and the Four Priests. Painted to their own scheme. If they all have wings then the army would look really cool.

So what do you think? Would it look good and still perform well in a friendly competitive environment?

I think this list would have lots of problems with many popular lists. How "friendly" is "friendly"?

Well the club is only small and everyone knows everyone and just has a bit of fun turning up playing a game that lasts a few hours. Naturally people want to win but it isn't a tournement or anything. Just a place where there is no point in having boring lists ie: razorspam or anything spam tbh.

With all that said I suppose the list just has to be fun to play, has a few "tricks" and looks great on the tabletop and on a display board hence the small model count and the all winged models...

Well, this list is sanguinary guard spam. I think its quite fluffy and if the other players will enjoy it, go for it!

At the very least it will look great! The low model count and no invul saves probably won't work out for you but I'd rather lose with style than pull off a boring win.

Played properly, it could be semi-competitive. One of my friends is a seasoned BA player who has plans to build a Sanguinary Guard Army to try for competitive play.

Yes I suppose it is a Sanguinary Guard spam, least it's good looking and small scale spam

The Angelus bolters are really effective against xenos. So I'd like to try this list. I'm just not willing to buy the models.

if someone else collects BA and has loads of the DC kit parts laying around, you really should ask if he could give/sell you the infernus pistol parts. I used those to arm my SG with infernus pistols. They have seen so little action after 6th edition came out thought that i really need to make a fun/fluffy list some day soon to dust these golden boys off... Also use plasma pistols to get more plasma shots to your units?

Ahh yes plasma pistols... My plan is to have a each model equipped with a onebladed axe to have infernus pistols so they will be similar to Dante (he will be having a slightly different paint job). Maybe the models with two bladed axes have plasma pistols???

Each model being sanguinary guard can be assigned to any squad before the game which will create a bit of diversity... Ie have two axes and 3 swords in each squad etc OR go the entire opposite and split them up by weapons to create 3 troops (sword angelus), 1 deep strike (axe infernus) and a specialised ground slogger (axe plasma)...

Any thoughts on power fists? One comes in each pack so...?

In my Dantewing I have but 1 powerfist, he goes with the deepstriking unit that I use to target enemy HQs and the powerfist is great against them as it gives the (almost) guaranteed wound.

I wouldn't go crazy with them though as it can start costing a lot of points.
