Alright, this is a followup to the first post I made about the upcoming feast of blades tournament. I played a few practice round with my list and lost both games. A large squad of wraithguard on foot just couldn't hold up against a riptide and an obscene ammount of lascannons/marbo. In light of this, I have decided to mount up for both speed and survivability. Here is an in your face, fast and devastating list. I'll post the definite composition and then leave the HQ choice up for debate.

Spiritseer
5x Wraithguard
Wave Serpent w/ holo fields/ Scatter Laser
5x Wraithscythes
Wave Serpent w/ holo fields/ Scatter Laser
5x Fire Dragons
Wave Serpentw/ holo fields/ Scatter Laser

6x Windriders w/ 2x Cannons
6x Windriders w/ 2x Cannons
5x Rangers

5x Warp Spiders

Wraithknight w/ Suncannon/ Scattershield

The debate is this: Should I take Eldrad, benefit from redeployment and a guaranteed turn of stealth. Cast powers once I'm out of the tank, leave my wraithknight not twin-linked, and enjoy the four powers in addition to ghost walk matrix on the wraithscythes tank; or should I take A farseer on a jetbike with the mantle of the laughing god, the spirit stone of anath'lan, the wraithforge stone and runes of witnessing, which would allow me to hide out of line of sight most of the game, cast powers wherever they are needed on the entire board, escort the wraithknight with regeneration and hope I don't get shot out of the sky, also opening up a random warlord trait which is interesting; or or or should I do something completely different. Thoughts?

Death is just the beginning, for those who walk the path of Valhalla. Flesh is the stuff of the enemy, transcend it, for only in spirit are the Eldar truly eternal.

Farseer, bike, mantle, spear.

And 2x Warlocks on bikes if you can do it with spears.

I think the wraithknight is better without the upgrades but ymmv.

Max that unit of spiders! (At least want 8).

I don't like dragons personally, much prefer war-walkers.

I realize you're just looking for input re: the HQ, just some food for thought.

I'm looking for all advice, I just added the HQ question so I wouldn't feel like I was disagreeing with everyone, lol.

My last list had war walkers, I really like them, but it's tough getting good mileage out of them, the spiders are basically the cheaper version of them in my mind.

I'd be tempted to add the warlocks to increase my jetbike survivability: In the Eldrad version of the list, I could drop the ghostwalk matrix and the spiders to take two warlocks on jetbikes sans spears.

In the Laughing God list, I could drop the spiders and the wraithforge stone, which makes me sad and I could add two warlocks on jetbikes with spears and a ghostwalk matrix on the wraithscythes tank.

Worth it?

Additionally I could exchange spirit stones and the wraithforge stone for a shard of anaris to make the seer a close combat monster for holding down my backfield?

Eldrards few additionalaniltes from a sear arnt really worth it, sorry. Better with bike and male sear.

Fire dragons, and two squads of gaurd with wright cannons is over kill anti vehicle. Find points to get writ gaurd d scythes.

Also to make spides bigger unit.

And how many points is this?v

My feast of blades qualifier is 1850, but this seams small for that.

The Twilight Zone

Ill go with a third suggestion-you don't need a 3rd HQ at all!

Your list would probably be best improved with another unit in a serpent, or turning your fragons into wraithguard. The rangers are questionable, and could be dropped for other things. If you have the WK with suncannon, he needs a shoulder scatter laser to twin link the cannon. Alternatively, drop him down to stock d guns.

A seer with the mantle can't take the wraithforge stone, you can only use one book special items. However, you could throw the wraithforge stone on your spiritseer to heal the WK. If you want a farseer, you can bike him with the mantle, or have him join a bike squad with the stone. Either or, but I think you are better off going another route.

With the Iyanden book you can make your WK your warlord, and combined with the wraithforge stone and possible renewer on your seer, this could be very good. Also, using the shadow council you can get more spiritseers, always a good choice.

The most important rule of 40K-Page XVII of the 6th edition rulebook, the figure at the top right of the page. "Shake hands with your opponent and thank them for a good battle and fun experience." Then go out for a beer.
Shine bright like Iyanden

Ah, some good points.

But first, one of the wraithguard squads already has d-scythes, hence them being listed as wraithscythes.

So I can definitely drop the points cost on my jetbike farseer by dropping the wraithforge stone.

One question: If I take my squad of rangers and give them a waveserpent can they infiltrate/outflank with it? It would be a perfect rescue wagon in case any of my other squads ended up stranded somewhere. The rangers could hop out and take supporting fire positions while the serpent whisks off my wraiths or dragons to the enemy lines.

Oh sorry my bad.

No, rangers can't have serpents as dedicated transports.
If only.....

Excellent point, I have solved the issue in an awesome fashion that even improves the play of the list. Look for Karandras as Wraith Assault HQ
