Stuck in Korea right now and can't play Warhammer 40K so I was wondering what the meta-is in the game in general right now and specifically at your store?

"meta" doesn't mean what you think it means.

We have a large.gamut of players in our area. Ork green tides, tau gunlines, Green Dark Angels, horde Dark Eldar, Flyrant and Tervigon nids.

He probably means meta as a shorthand for metagame.

I have a peanut allergy. It's really inconsiderate.

My store sees quite a bit of traffic being a large location in the center of our country's largest city.

This makes it somewhat unique in that there really is no meta that I can see. There are so many types of players: new players, competitive veterans, casual veterans, etc.

Although, most lists due tend to be geared towards the competitive side of things. Most of our new players are given tips pretty early on to help them avoid potential slaughter

Make sure you're not basing army choices off what this board says if you're looking to try to counter the metagame you go back to. You really need to ask those at the next place you are going for that information.

Our meta is mainly the reason I don't play 40k that much. No one can't get the tournament mindset out of their heads. Everyone has to bring the cheesiest list they possibly can.

For example, 2-3 riptides, 2x 10 Sternguard, kantor and 10 TH/SS terminators, nurgle zombie hordes, guard veteran air cav.

Side note, isn't it amazing that all the guard nowadays are veterans?

My store is all eldar, all the time, except for my orks, and another guy's tyranids. I don't know enough about eldar to describe the lists very well, but there are usually a few wraithknights and avenger squads running around. Even before the new eldar book, they were a very large majority.

We have a fairly even split, which is a decent result of the recent concentration on Xenos Codexes I feel.

Including myself, we have 2 Eldar players, 2 Necron, 1 Tau, 1 Chaos Marines, 2 Daemons, and (I think) 1 Nids. On the flipside, we have 1 Guard player, 1 Space Wolves, 2 Blood Angels, and the newer players tend to go for vanilla Marines as you might imagine.

...ours is a fairly small store, so some of these players overlap.

A pretty limited amount of aircraft, mainly because there are no Necron players that show up frequently and only one CSM player. This means that older codexes (codices?) Who lack anti-air can still do really well, giving Orks, Marines, (Wolves and Vanilla,) and non-Flying-Hive-Tyrant tyranids a bit of an edge that they don't have elsewhere.

The meta at my store is kinda wierd and hard to call an actual meta, it's probably split into two catergories. There's the "casual" crowd who generally collect lots of different armies and quite often go for the flavour of the month style purchases with out any consideration as to what is strong at the moment. One guy started 4 different armies in as many months mostly due to new releases. Than there's the other half who have one or two armies they really focus on making minor adjustments all the time due to modelling reasons or to deal with the new releases.

As for the actual armies there's a real even spread, there's at least two of every army being played with no one army really standing out as the most popular. I do notice however that there is a very distinct lack of flyers in my area with most armies usually having one but very rarely more than two.

Double Fine Adventure, Wasteland 2, Nekro, Shadowrun Returns, Tropes vs. Women in Video Games, Planetary Annihilation, Project Eternity, Distance, Dreamfall Chapters, Torment: Tides of Numenera, Consortium, Divinity: Original Sin, Smart Guys, Raging Heroes - The Toughest Girls of the Galaxy, Armikrog, Massive Chalice, Satellite Reign, Cthulhu Wars, Warmachine: Tactics, Game Loading: Rise Of The Indies, Indie Statik, Awesomenauts: Starstorm, Cosmic Star Heroine, THE LONG DARK, The Mandate, Stasis, Hand of Fate, Upcycled Machined Dice, Legend of Grimrock: The Series, Unsung Story: Tale of the Guardians, Cyberpunk Soundtracks, Darkest Dungeon, Starcrawlers

I have a KickStarter problem.
