Stalwart Veteran Guard Sergeant

So for the first time in my war gaming life i am close to actually getting an army painted, 2250 points of Germans for overlord, so before i show that in its moderate glory i thought i would share a few bits and pieces.

By no means an accomplished painter and i have found 15mm somewhat hard to get to grips with, but this stuff i think falls in tabletop standard. Tips would however be appreciated. Will be fixing / doing a better job of the infantry bases in the future.

Infantry are battlefront plastics from Open fire and the Panther and Sherman are PSC models

Oh and apologies for picture quality, stuck just using my phone at the moment.

I'm from the future. The future of space

I think they turned out pretty good. I especially like the vehicles.

If I were to make any suggesting, it would be to brighten up the infantry just a bit. The smaller scale you go, the harder it is for the eye to pick out the details unless you increase the contrast. So a highlight of a slightly brighter colour on the highest points of the helmet, face, shoulders, knees (any part that sticks out so the light might hit it) will probably make the infantry pop a bit more.

Also, it will help if the basing colour isn't a bright green while the rest of the rigures are a darker colour. A brown or tan would probably make them look better.

Your first 15mm were definitely better than my first 15mm. Great job!

Balance in pick up games? Two people, each with their own goals for the game, design half a board game on their own without knowing the layout of the board and hope it all works out. Good luck with that. The faster you can find like minded individuals who want the same things from the game as you, the better.

All look good to me... My only comment would be to reduce the size of the dots on the Panther.

If these are bad I really don't want to know what mine count as

'I've played Guard for years, and the best piece of advice is to always utilize the Guard's best special rule: "we roll more dice than you" ' - stormleader

"Sector Imperialis: 25mm and 40mm Round Bases (40+20) 26€ (Including 32 skulls for basing) " GW design philosophy in a nutshell
