do you get thw benefit from any USRs when vector striking? mainly armour bane and fleshbane.
it came up today in a game where a FMC with armorbane wanted to vectorstrike a flying vehicle, but a decision on whether or not armorbane applied couldn't be reached so a roll off was used.
id like to get a definite answer for future refrences

No, you do not get to use any special rules from vector strikes
From the main rule book FAQ
Q: When a model makes a Vector Strike or Hammer of Wrath, do
these attacks benefit from any special rules (such as Furious Charge,
Poisoned or Rending), or any weapons or other wargear it is
equipped with? (p37/43)
A: No.

No. Armourbane/Fleshbane only work in CC if the model has the special rule. As VS is not a CC attack...
Edit: And per the FAQ as above. I knew it was somewhere...

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.

really....i need to carry that FAQ arround when facing the Nidzilla guy - he likes to hammer of wrath with the Smash rule since its "not wargear"
Ive never had it come up since except nobz with a pk (which obviously doesnt confer the ap) nothing i have has an ap value anyway, so i never looked into the rule very far.

You dont even need the FAQ, it specifies in the rules for HoW or Smash that yo cannot "Smash" with HoW
|
