Not sure if anyone knows the answer to this, but why doesn't GW make kits like this for 40k?

I know there is a Space Marine Commander, but what about the other armies? A kit like the above would seem like an easy sell, esp for beginners.

Buy a squad (or two), a Command box (which makes an HQ and a BSB/or equivalent), a vet squad, and a paint set. Oh yeah, and don't forget your GW tools!

There is the Terminator Chaos Lord too, but I really wish there were more. A Warboss one would be an awesome release next time orks roll around.

Because for a plastic kit that takes an entire mold, they don't sell terribly well. If someone wants one, they'll only buy one, as it's their general. If someone wants a specific bit from it, they'll ebay said bit.

Their new style of single pose, single frame plastic characters is much more manageable because they can fit four to a mold. If one doesn't sell terribly well, the other three can pick up the sales slack.

Loki, GW is doing plasic HQ choices in a single sprue these days. Maybe the size of the sprue makes it cheaper but I don't see the static stuff selling much better than the kits. Except for the VC/Undead ones that are used for Necron conversions.

I agree with you. While there are multipart plastic HQ/Champions for 40K, they're not as good as the Empire General/Battle Wizards, save perhaps the Chaos Terminator Lord/Sorcerer.

Eldar could do with a pack or 2 of these.
Autarchs can take almost any Aspect weapon, with 2 helmet choices, and 3 transport options.
This is sold as 3 kits, with maybe 2 weapons per kit. This still leaves some options out.
Making a single kit, and adding a jetbike to that, would be great.

In fairness you can count the new Tau commander kit if i recall, as well as the old one technically (even though I think the old one was just a crisis suit with the 3 extra commander suit guns?)
