Hello dakka dakka. I need to strip the paint off my riptide and broadside and need to know what to use. I live in New Zealand and haven't seen simply green anywhere. What else could I use?

You can get Simple Green from Bunnings Warehouse, some supermarkets have it as well. It's dirt cheap and does the job well.

Yep.

In the US it's LA's Totally Awesome Cleaner that does the job.
Around the world Simple Green is what you want.

This is where I got my Simple Green from, however, it didn't work. The model I was stripping wasn't originally mine so I don't know what paint they were using but after trying a 1 day soak, I went for a week soak and still didn't get any results. This could have been because of the paint or I might have picked up the wrong Simple Green.

Simple green never worked for me. It strips, but poorly. Totally Awesome is much, much cheaper and has worked great on plastic, metal, and finecast. It does soften finecast if left for long periods of time though. They harden back up when removed, but they stay in the hardened pose. My farseer's wychblade is now permanently twisted. Even hot water doesnt help. However, it is by far the best stripper especially with multiple layers of paint.

Not sure what paint it was then, but when I needed to strip FoW resins and GW plastics of their Citadel/Vallejo colours it did a great job. Half a day soaking followed by a vigorous scrub with a toothbrush saw 95% of the paint disappear.

I use Acetone myself, but some do not recommend it for plastic/resin models. My army is entirely metal so I haven't had any issues with it. I did alot of research prior to stripping my first few models & it seems Simple Green is the way to go for plastic/resin.

Brown Dettol also works. Assuming you have it over there.

I usually use Simple Green and it works great with a little scrubbing or a LONG soak. I've also heard of using "Goo Gone" overnight and the paint just falls off. Haven't tried it though.
