Hi Dakka,
I'm participating in an escalation campaign/tournament of sorts. We'll be starting off at 400 points with a 1HQ/1 troop composition, then going bigger over time.
I don't know anything about my opponents personally, but I do know that there will be Necrons, Death Guard, 2 Imperial Guard, Tyranids and Salamander/C:SM opponents. So I will need a TAC list.
My current list, as it stands, is:
HQ: Farseer, Jetbike (115)
Troop: 7xWindrider Jetbikes, 2xShuriken Cannons (156)
Heavy Support: Fire Prism (125)
396 Points
I like the Fire Prism because it's weapon array allows it do almost everything well, and with Farseer guide support, it could do a lot of damage.
However, I've also considered taking one wave serpent with two shuriken cannons, which is also 125 points, or three VC batteries for 90 points. That's either D6+1 guided strength 7 shots from 60'' away, or potentially three guided S9 AP2 shots from 48'' away.
So many choices and options with this new 'dex. I don't know what to stick with.
Opinions? Advice?

I like your list composition as is considering your FOC and points level. If you are required to keep this, it will serve as a solid skeleton regardless of what direction you go.
The 7th windrider is deadweight, as you already have 6 for the 2 cannons. If you cut em, you can give your serpent holo fields and your farseer a singing spear. The field increases the life of your serpent, while the spear adds some more AT as well as the potential to instagib models.

HQ: Farseer, Singing Spear, Jetbike (120) Troop: 6x Wind-Rider Jetbikes (122) Wave-Serpent, Holo-fields, Shuriken Cannon (140) 382 17 points left. I don't know what I shifted around, but I could actually fit that 17th guy in there now. Also, good call on the singing spear. That thing is BEAST! I'm a little scared to detach my farseer from the jetpack group to go slaughtering in melee, but it could be really useful for popping a tank that my wave serpent can't crack open.

Or maybe give the Serpent a TL scatter laser instead? Then the serpent will be putting out 7 s6 and d6+1 s7 shots that are all ready all TL thanks to the scatter laser (odds of missing all shots with the scatter laser are less than 1% so you can count on all weapons being TL).

It was actually 8 windriders at the start, 156 points.
Also, you can't have a Wave Serpent unless there's a squad inside.
120: Farseer w/ jetbike and singing spear
183: 9 Windriders w/ 3 shuriken cannons
90: 3 Vibro cannons/shadow weavers. In an escalation league you can swap the weapons when you need.
That's 7 points left...sorry you can't do anything with that.

I still feel that youd be better off using a Prism. The ability to go from the one shot tank destroyer to wrecking power armour is just so useful.
