Hi everyone! New to posting on Dakka, but I'm a long time reader (Lurker I guess) I have a 1750 point tournament coming up in just under a month and I wanted to get my list ready in advance so that I can make sure I have all my models for the list painted The tournament is all standard books/Foc but Forgeworld/Imperial Armour rules are strictly prohibited
so this is what I have come up with so far:
Hq
1) Librarian
Mastery Level 2(Epistolary), Terminator armour w/ Storm Sheild
2) Master of the Forge
Powe axe, Bolt pistol, Servoharness
Troops
1) Tactical Squad (10)
Meltagun, Multi-melta

The General Idea was That the Master of the Forge would deploy with the Scouts and Man the Quad Gun at the start, the rest would Deep strike in In appropriate order based upon what I am fighting- One thing is that I am not super familiar with Psykers, Is that Upgrade to Mastery level 2 really worth it?
Otherwise It's pretty typical pick the most dangerous targets and destroy them first drop pod style list
I wont really be able to buy much to expand my Forces but for Space marines I have 25 Termies, 8 Assault marines, 5 Devastors, 11 Scouts, 2 Dreadnoughts, 5 bikes-1 assult bike option, 40 Marines, 9 Sterngaurd, 3 rhinos, Land Raider (any variant) Calgar,Pedro Kanor and assorted characters (most notably a Biker Captain with Thunder hammer/Storm Sheild and a Techmarine/Master of the forge) So I would like to keep it within that- although I also have countless (ok not countless but a lot) of Guardsmen that I can ally in

Edit I also tend towards Salamanders, despite not using Vulkan (and yes I am aware of the reasons why I should field him) and my army is painted as such

Have you considered running them as dark angels, they are way cheaper and plus those termies could be troops, running 30 marines in pods dreads in pods and 25 termies is well rounded and could cause some problems to your enemy

I would, But I don't own the Dark Angels codex and I wont be able to get ahold of one easily before the tournament, also to make the Termies Troops do I have to take Belial?

Have you looked at the list that Reecius at frontlinegaming.org just ran at goldent throne GT, might want to grab some ideas from that, I am sure he will have battle reports with helpful information/tactics in the next few days. He was running SM/SW, if you can get wolves, even a small detachment like a runepriest with 9 grey hunters, do it, Jawws right now is extremely good and the 4+ DTW is also extremely powerful.

Hello!
I would say that the poweraxe is unnecessary on the MofF due to the harness. I question the ML on the droppod Tac squad, seems another MM might be the better idea. I run my scouts with a ML. I find the HB less than impressive. I would also update the other DN with a HF.
Just some minor tweaks/suggestions. I think the list looks good.

I agree with the power axe after consideration, especially because he wont really be front-line and has the harness just in case, So With a couple refinements it's:

Although I am still wondering about The Epistolary upgrade on the librarian, and which force weapon he should use (I'm leaning towards axe, as he has the defensive storm sheild/Terminator armour, and I like ignoring all types of armour and the Strength bonus is nice) And what Psychic powers.
I just wonder about the Librarian because as I said I'm not super familiar with Psykers (especially in this edition) and am thinking I could get a pretty good captian for the same points cost
The only other tweak made here is the extra points from losing the power axe on the Master of the Forge (and adding a Heavy Flamer to the 2nd Dreadnought) I added 1 more combi-flamer to the Sternguard
