Hey all,

This is a very simple list. I've found myself struggling to make Trukks work in 6th, but noticed while reading the ETC lists how many players were opting for either dual bikernobz or dual meganobz, and thought that I'd combine it with my Trukk mobz. I present to you:

HQ

Warboss - Mega-armour, Bosspole, Attack Squig - 130pts

Warboss - Mega-armour, Bosspole - 115pts

Troops

Meganobz - 4 - 260pts
-> Mounted in a Battlewagon with Reinforced Ram and a Big Shoota

Meganobz - 4 - 260pts
-> Mounted in a Battlewagon with Reinforced Ram and a Big Shoota

Boyz - 12, choppas and sluggas - 152pts
-> Led by a Nob with Powerklaw and Bosspole
-> Mounted in a Trukk with a Reinforced Ram

Boyz - 12, choppas and sluggas - 152pts
-> Led by a Nob with Powerklaw and Bosspole
-> Mounted in a Trukk with a Reinforced Ram

Boyz - 12, choppas and sluggas - 152pts
-> Led by a Nob with Powerklaw and Bosspole
-> Mounted in a Trukk with a Reinforced Ram

Boyz - 11, choppas and sluggas - 146pts
-> Led by a Nob with Powerklaw and Bosspole
-> Mounted in a Trukk with a Reinforced Ram

Fast Attack

Dakkajet - Flying Ace, Extra Supa Shoota - 130pts

1497 in total.

The big question is probably: "How will this list handle Helldrakes and Tau?" I am not sure. The sole Dakkajet is unlikely to do much to a Helldrake, sadly, so I'm curious to hear opinions from the trenches as to this issue; can I get away with the lack of anti-air, in light of my extreme Troops and melee focus?

There is no Big Mek, partly because I wanted dual meganobz, and partly because the KFF doesn't really do anything this edition, especially versus Tau.

Hey. Sorry to add to your woes here, but Eldar are also likely represent with a lot of problems too, namely Wave Serpents and the serpent shield of OP doom, which would make short work of those trukks. A solitary dakka jet is unlikely to bother Tau or Eldar at all like you say, and CSM very little - though you could do some damage to a flying DP to try get its points back before being Vector struck by helldrakes.

Personally i think a squad of nob bikers would be a good addition, keeping both battlewagons but loading the 2nd one up with boyz

I reckon you should run two MegaBosses, three units of Elite MegaNobz, and two units of Troop MegaNobz.

God knows how well it will perform, but you'd have fifty two Mega Armour wearing Orks on the field wrecking gak, which is awesome.

Some of the ETC lists are indeed like that. I simply couldn't get hold of that many Meganobz though. In addition, I've found that they die fast enough not to consider them a be-all and end-all solution

Hey dude, how goes it? You off to the ETC soon?

Trukks dying like champs is one of the sad facts of life. How many Wave Serpents am I likely to see at 1500 though? I've read briefly about their attack, which is pretty tasty.

One option is to drop the Dakkajet for Lootas, the go-to migrant anti-air workers of the far future. I toyed with the idea of a Skyshield Pad - can't ignore the invuln with a baleflamer - but that would really require a shooty army I feel to make it viable. Plus you'd need a LOT of lootas to consider yourself "safe" versus fliers in general.

Nob Bikers are indeed always potent, but they are very much an evolutionary dead end versus Tau I feel - 4+/4+cover/5++ is effectively just a 5++ versus the Tau. Also it would really cut down on the scoring bodies, seeing as they run 10 points more expensive than the Meganobz before weapon upgrades. Still, plenty of Nob Bikers at the ETC, and they have the benefit of being just as scary as the Meganobz in the wagons.

Are the Trukkboyz really just a dead end these days, do you think? I certainly got that impression in my last games with the poor blighters. Perhaps a Kult of Speed supplement will help

No the guys left fir ETC this morning. I was asked at one point though i think they were scrapin the barrel for for players then! Was happy to play home nations but cba going to Serbia. I think they'll do better than last year though.

You should chew the fat with Gram when your back - he's spent countless frustrating nights at Simmys playing against meta lists to come up with satisfactory ork lists. Alas i think he is losing the faith.with gork & mork - he played Jays Eldar at a recent tourney, now
the space pansies are clamoring for him to be installed as failseer !

I think you would do better with a loaded up meganob squad with ghazy or warbozz, but if going big use ghazy as he is eternal warrior, then take Mad doc for some FNP goodness, then put them in a battlewaggon, I would then load boys into 2 battlewaggons make them shootas with 2 rokkits - one on nob with pk, then potentially a line with quad and put grots manning with runherder, then some big gunz with runt herder for some S8 shots if have points could get lootas behind line or in battlewaggon - have them shooting at flyers - if moving in BW snap shooting anyway and hey it is only one less on the dice roll anyway right!

Armies
Eldar, Dark Eldar, Harlequins, Eldar Corsairs, Orks, Tyranids, Genestealer Cult, Chaos, Choas Space Marines, Tau, Sisters of Battle, Inquisition, Necrons, Space Marines, Space Wolves, Grey Knights, Imperial Knights, Dark Angels, Imperial Guard, Ad Mech, Knights, Skaven, Sylvaneth

Needs a LOT more dakka.

Seriously. Orks win on making it rain. Get some Lootas and as many Big Shootas as you can carry. Drop the trukks. Boyz with lots an lost of shootas will do far better on foot, and will help support your mega-armor blitz.

Ba-zziiing!

Aye, I always mean to talk to Gram about the Orks, but have no way of contacting him outside of seeing him in GW. Last time I saw him - when I played Simmy at WFB - he looked somewhat despondent about the Orks.

There can only ever be one Failseer.

Ghazzy isn't worth it, to my mind; paying 100pts for upgrading the 4+ invuln to a 2+ invuln doesn't make much sense. I could have nearly 3 meganobz for the same price.
