I've been rank 24 in International Comp Pokemon, 2nd Gen, for a few days.
GOTTA CATCH THEM ALL!
...is total bullcrap though, as most Pokemon are terrible and useless.

I enjoyed my Pokemon but I swear it all went downhill since Gold and Silver (or Crystal, if you are nit-picky). Ruby was kinda nice, but the magic was gone by then ... too much random crap that had nothing to do with the kick-ass fighting system.
Nowadays I prefer Warhammer
