Hey guys.

Quick question about what other people have done regarding Deathwing colors. The first set i painted i used the old Dheneb Stone foundation paint from GW. I loved this paint and i used it for various things, i found it went on really well, and provided a great base to work on. i then used the seraphim sepia wash and then went over the top again after with dheneb stone and everything was great. No problems. But now im working on a few more units and a unit of knights. My dheneb stone has pretty much had it. And its not in production anymore. The new color that is meant to be the best match is rakarth flesh. So i tried this and i find it alot darker, also i brought ushati bone color as well because somewhere else suggested trying that. I find that i bit to yellowish to use on the whole model, seems to work well for highlighting the edges.

Basically what do other people go for? iv never tried any other paint ranges, more than willing to. My local game shop also stock Valljero (sp?)
or is it a case of trying to get hold of dheneb stone online somewhere at, now a higher price as its no longer made. All my deathwing units are stripped back to the plastic so im starting fresh.

Any suggestions from fellow deathwing painters much appreciated.

Thanks guys Nick

I'm by no means an expert but I've got some pretty good results (so far) with the following:

Prime/Undercoat: Army Painter rattle-can of Skeleton Bone
Wash: Seraphim Sepia
1st Highlight: Ushabti Bone
2nd Highlight: Screaming Skull
3rd highlight: Screaming Skull & White Scar

I do 2 layers of each highlight as i thin out my paints heaps.

Hope that helps...

Get your models on the table and looking good!

Prime grey

Drybrush graveyard earth-kommando khaki-rakarth flesh

Wash seraphim sepia

Drybrush rakarth flesh-ushtabi bone in that order.

Block out the non armour plates with grey
Finnish up to your standard.

That's kept me right for 15 terminators now plus belial and it suits my aesthetic.

For the Lion and Terra!

Because nothing in the galaxy is black and white, Mankind views the Space Marines as a last resort. The last line. When all else fails. They take up the burden. The noble defenders of Mankind. The last hope.

With finecast you can bypass the washing stage and throw them straight into the bin.

Or cut out the middleman and just flush some money down the toilet.
