Neophyte Undergoing Surgeries

Hi, I recently acquired a bundle of plastic RTB01 Space Marine sprues including four complete and intact ones. I have a thing for the old-school marines (especially some of the tanks of the era - the Rhino is just superbly simple yet brilliant), but don't like how what once cost £10 goes for £200 nowadays on eBay. Even just that pack with enough parts for 9 models plus tons more spares was a pain to win.

This gave me an idea: why not take the complete sprues and figure out how to use them to make casts to get more marines cheaper than trying eBay? I understand that there will be legal implications; I am doing this purely for personal, private gain and have no intention of selling these on for any reason.

So what I was wondering is: is this possible (feasible of not), and what is the best method to use to get a decent quality result with minimal serious cleaning short of the machines used by companies like GW. It's just a fun little idea to get a few more classic models without a horrendous price tag.

Thanks for any help that can be given.

Tutorial on how to create two part silicon molds. The only problem I could see is the size of the channels; Could be that the viscosity is to high to fill the complete sprue.

Not really feasible, I'm afraid.
If it was, it would have already been done.

Counterfeit plastic models DO exist, but generally, these were churned out by the same plastics mob that did the "official" ones - only in the off hours (or with duplicate dies).
Hence why FW pulled out of Shanghai.

I'm OVER 50 (and so far over everyone's BS, too).
Old enough to know better, young enough to not give a ****.

That is not dead which can eternal lie ...

... and yet, with strange aeons, even death may die.
