Sorry I just got this done on my right arm and I'm pretty excited about it, it's probably very stupid and feel free to tell me so, but I'm quite delighted.



If anyone else has any Ink they'd like to show off I'd love to see them.

There should be an old Tattoo thread floating around. If you do a search for it you should be able to find it, and it has pics of previous ink shown.

I did have a look but I didn't want to perform 'Threadnomancy', although this was probably as irritating.

Looks well done, just not a fan of solid black myself, all my work is black and grey or colour.

I was considering it, this is my first (of what will probably be many) tattoos, so lesson learned there.

Gotta be careful with Tattoos. You never know what path life will take, and they can wind up a liability in the future. Well at least here in America. Maybe things are different overseas.

Chongara isn't wrong, not been given a job because of my tattoos, thankfully the hospital is more open minded (ward sister has a wrist one). Make sure it can be covered is a really strong thing to consider. In my job I have to be bare below the elbows, so keep my arms clear of tattoos, for now at least. Also try and get something that is important to you not just a design you like. Made that mistake myself. Also reputable artists are good sign, if they are cheap think again, always go look at portfolios.

When I came in this thread I thought it was going to be about something owned by a guy named Tattoo. I mean, the thread title IS "Tattoo's", not "Tattoos"....

Luckily my job doesn't have any restrictions like this, the only real restriction they have is none on the neck/face.

I'd never dare get a tattoo on my neck or face, I am planning all of mines to be on my back or above my elbow, that way I can always cover them with a shirt in case I move job.

Also, yeah I didn't notice that Tim, I blame my phones autocorrect and my lack of patience.

I've been trying to think of a cool way to turn a single or a few D6 in to a good tattoo.

Got it when I first graduated from nursing school in 2003.

The piece I have been planning for the last few years will be my personal coat-of-arms.

Here is my bantha skull that I did myself on my left calf. Not perfect, but good enough.

Just be careful that your tattoo artist doesn't get in trouble. Looks pretty decent.

this one was my first-i generally give something at least 3 or 4 months consideration before it gets added to the list of things i might get inked-my crow was considered for probably 6 or 8 months from what i remember

i would like to sleeve my arms, but like others have mentioned, that can really bugger up job hunting, so for now i stick with areas that i can cover with normal clothing

Here's my only piece. Got it done freshman year of college, so about 2.5 years ago. I've been lazy since I got to China so my pectorals have dissipated sadly :(. Got it done by the same guy who did the giant Chaos Space Marine back-piece you see images of floating around the net. Saw that in his work gallery and just knew he was the guy for me. At some point I want to get an old school WWII era Lady Liberty to go on the other side.

The camera didn't really do this one justice. I swear he did a better job than the picture but the light and my Neanderthal chest kind of make it look bad.

I wouldn't mind putting my coat-of-arms on my shoulder or even a back piece. But I'm a hairy man, and it probably would not look good.

Will either go for the left arm or one of my calves.

Wouldn't mind doing a sleeve out of it on my forearm either, but I do like being able to cover it up.

I have 2. One I hate and another I love. My first is supposed to be a devil in a top hat, but it looks like some ICP tatt and I hate it so much. I'd like it covered up. The one I love is my zodiac on my left hand. The wife and I wanted to share a tattoo, but both of us think getting the others names is stupid, so we got our zodiacs in the same place. That way if we ever split up, I wouldn't be stuck with her name on me

Got two myself, nongame related.

The first one I got is of a face pushing its way out of my flesh with wires stretched across it and fishhooks at the end of the wires and then a screw embedded in to the forehead...sounds more complicated and bigger then it really is. This tattoo is on my upper bicep and doesn't get seen very much.

The other tattoo I have is of circuitry and covers most of bicep and likes to peak out often. I have never had a problem with this one preventing me from getting a job...in fact, I currently work at a library and wear shirts that don't hide it very well, and they have never asked me to cover it up.

I've considered getting one, but every time I do I just think that my thoughts about it may change twenty, or forty years down the line. Perhaps the tools to remove them may have advanced further by then, but I'm just iffy about getting one that represent's something inconsequential to me (ie that one Tank Girl one I was thinking about). If I were to get one it'd have to represent something more important than just wargaming, but even saying that how many former skinheads are having their racist tattoos removed now (not to say that all, or even the majority of them are racists).

Though then again I may come across as uptight and too sentimental over this to people who do have them.

I have a few here and there: "So it goes..." on my left wrist and on my chest I have Kilgore Trout's tombstone reading "Life is no way to treat an animal" as taken from Kurt Vonnegut's essay collection, A Man Without A Country. On my right upper arm I have a Rebel Alliance Starbird and on the inside of my right bicep is a Converge sunman. On each of my forearms there are halves of a heart. On my left calf is the heraldry of Gondor and on the the inside of my right calf is a Bad Religion "crossbuster".

When I'm 18 I will have a crux terminas [on my right shoulder] and the DA chapter symbol [on the left shoulder] tatooed on.

Plan on getting two sleeves. One a skinless design and one a robotic. Going to get a career going before I do that though.

I am absolutely open to getting a tattoo, but as of yet I haven't found anything that I feel is significant enough for me to have permanently inscribed upon my person.

I love tattoos, I have heaps of them. I have found a tattoo artist I can work with, so I do the design and drawings and he makes it permanent. All my work is 100% original and never to be repeated which I like.

I haven't gone below the elbows as my wife wants me to be able to look 'respectable' when I need to, but from elbows up over the shoulders across the back is covered.

It all has some form of significance or symbolism to me, I think that it is really important that your artwork means something to you, not just a tramp stamp and I shudder to think I could walk down the street and see someone else sporting my ink.....
