Greetings all,

As someone who enjoys the fluff and lore immensly I finaly decided to start an army.

My first stop will be a dark vengeance set. I like the dark angels but was thinking of the grey knights as well
I realy dont like the orange monkeys I saw in the codex, so two questions:

1. How much of a disadvantage would I have if I never included them ?
2. Is it worth getting a second army or would you sugest beefing up the dark angels from the box set first (get a dreadnaught and maybe a rhino as well)

Hi there, can't comment about the orange monkeys, but I've made my Dark Angels from Dark Vengeance a Codex Force with addition of Camo Cloaked Scout Squad, I back them up with a Razor Back and for extra oomf use a Predator with Auto Cannon and Heavy Bolter Sponsons. I would suggest another tactical squad and you've got a very useable force coming in at around 1400pts on a full load out.

Indeed, going for dark vengeance, it might be more logical to go with buffing the DA's

Ps. If you like fluff and lore have you read 'descent of angels'? DA must!

Hah indeed thats a realy good one, very distinct feel to it.
The only reserve I had going full DA was the green colour but looks like there are other schemes posible as well, like black or bone.

Hi,

Well well, People actualy stopped by and said hi.
Thanks everyone!

More OT I have decided to start with the DA first. But the question is still of importance.
Ill try and generalise it:

Do all armies have a fixed set of unit types:

For instance in a chess game both armies have knights, does it mean that if I decide not to use these monkey's I will be throwing out a type of unit that my opponent would have or is it like tanks where you have several options.
