Well I have made my decision and my order is being processed and my Reaver titan is being armed, checked, blessed, and soon will be in route from mars to reenforce my
DKOK Army.
So I have a few questions before it gets here ( it will be a awhile before it does to)
What will i need to buy to build this model?
Well call me a bluff old traditionalist but I prefer money, although your firstborn and a sack of potatoes could land you a Reaver
What size and what quality pins should i use for the joints?
Generally go for brass rod, between 0.5-1.0mm
What is the best glue i should use for this model?
Epoxy for the major components such as legs and the body, superglue for minor details like cockpits and weapons.
Where is a good place to get these supplies?
What do you suggest i do before I actually start gluing and putting it together?
I have an Idea of how i want the pose, ( front foot all the way down, second foot starting to take its step, weapons leveled, body slightly looking to the right.)
should i use a base or not??
Depends how it ends up. Mine is built in the same way except the body is straight forward rather than to the right and it's very stable without a base. Then again, a base will provide even better stability, makes certain rule queries easier to manage if it has a base, and is a great opportunity for some good scenic modelling.
What type of wood or plastic should i use for the base that wont warp and is easy to shape and work with?
Probably plywood I'd imagine. I can't see you leaving a £500 titan in a place where it, let alone the wood, could warp.
Should i use an existing Titan for the name an the background since my army is based around the 11th assault Korps from Siege of Vraks? or should i come up with a new one.
Can't help you there, that's completely your choice. Personally, mine's in the Warp Runners colours but I made my own legion, Legio Valkyiae, just go nuts with the fluff.
any other advice or information would be great! thank you
ill start a new thread once its built for painting and worry about that then!
Thanks again!!
