trying to build a decent 1350 tourney list using what i have!

thinking about possibly dropping 2 oblits and one plage marine from one squad and take a helldrake if i can borrow one for the tournament.
let me know what you all think?

You'll want the helldrake if you can get it. Otherwise, it's going to be damned hard to kill. You won't be hurting much of anyone,though.

Not bad, the Oblits will be relied upon heavily, but with 4 you should be ok. You do have a large weakness to Flyers, if the enemy brings one you won't be able to take it out, though unless you see dual Helldrakes Flyers just won't hurt your army at all.

I would split at least one squad up of Zombies up. Take two larger squads, then max out the rest of your troop choice with 10 man Zombie Squads. If you do this I'll really like it. A couple of small squads of Zombies with FNP are a pain to deal with and allow you to fully saturate objectives with annoying fearless troops. You should be able to dominate Objective based games as no one will be bringing enough to take out your troops.

The list would be a lot easier to read if you put down the exact numbers rather than just how may more to the basic squad, makes it easier for us who don't have our codex handy.

Plague Marines are not as efficient without a rhino, for 35 points it's a bargain and allows a lot more mobility. Dropping one squad of zombies will allow two rhinos and filling out another zombie squad.

The helldrake is a wonderful game piece but it is NOT essential to win as Chaos. Far from it. It is the one of the most effective models for it's point cost in the codex but so are 5 plasma chosen in a rhino. It's all how you play.

I disagree with Zagman. Although the zombies are fearless only having ten means they're going to drop very quickly. A blob of 30 can tarpit the best of melee units for the entire game.

On the flyer side you can always try and get lucky with your oblits with the twin-linked meltaguns, if not then an aegis with quad gun would be your best bet.

I advised him having two full squads, then two smaller squads to fill out all 6 troops. That still allows him to tarpit the enemy on their objectives, likely contesting, while allowing two squad of Zombies to hold home objectives. It creates alot of targets for the enemy, and many enemies will struggle to devote enough firepower downfield to kill 10 Zombies with cover and FNP with 60 Zombies and Plague Marines bearing down on them.

Oblits target anything in the enemy with a template and that can hurt them, then picks off vehicles. The Plague marines with Typhus are scary enough to devote an enemy response with them barreling down the field. Plague marines are better with a rhino when the threat is plague marines, but when its Plague Marines and Zombie Hoards they can manage just fine without one as they won't be primary targets and can be where they need to be T3.

Thanks for the tips guys! I normally run a squad of plague marines behind a squad of zombies as a "meat-shield" and normally run typhus with one of the squads of oblits deep striking!

So you're basically saying have 35 zombies, 35 zombies, and two squads of 15?(I physically own 100 zombies) I like that idea! Will play test it like that next week! I really am considering springing for a hell drake(as I've been working on a scratch-build body for one so I can utilize the box to manage to get 2 for the price of one! There are just so many other things I'd rather spend that kinda money on though!

Yep, that is what I was saying. I'd even consider consolidating the Plague marines into one unit, running 35, 35, 10, 10, 10 for the Zombies and letting Typhus go with the new and improved Plague Marines.

DSing the Oblits and Typhus? I'd deploy them on the board and get another round of shooting from them.

my one problem with the combining of the plague marines into one squad is i lose out on two special weapons and another set of meltabombs! also, the fact that doing so puts my list at about 50 pts shy of 1,350! i dont know what i can add more points to however, so the plague marine squads will most like stay separate on the list but i can still run em together!
