Isnt runemaw the cancel a spell on 2+? Runemaw goes first, before resolving any spell effects I thought
So if you fail it could knacker runemaw....

Rune Maw makes you pick a new legal target on a 2+. Feeding my daughter so difficult to type more :p

I suggest you don't believe anything posted by thedarkavenger unless confirmed by other regular posters here at Dakka. He has shown he is incapable of basic English comprehension.

In that case Runemaw wins, as you are still targetting with Arcane unforging.

My question is more along the lines of Rune Maw says Unit. But Arcane Unforging says model.
"When any spell targeting a UNIT with Rune Maw..."
"Spells that do not specifically target the Unit are not affected by the Rune Maw."
"Is a direct damage spell with a range of 24" that targets a single enemy model (even a character in a unit)."
Now, I get the idea that Rune Maw doesn't protect against indirect templates, but not sure about what is essentially a Sniper-type spell. The target is a model, not the whole unit holding the Rune Maw.

A model in the unit is part of that unit, and as such the unit is being targeted. Albeit a specific part of the unit but its still the unit.
So the Runemaw could indeed bounce Arcane Unforging. Only if the Runemaw rolls a 1 will the spell work on the Runemaw.

Is the model part of a unit with rune maw? Yes. Meaning the unit is being targeted

Just like spirit leech. On a 2+ it doesn't work.
