Ok, found some FoW stuff, no idea where it came from. I've never played FoW but it looks interesting. I come from WH40k so i hope the change isnt too drastic. I have......

Grenadierkompanie HQ -70
w/ AT Section

3 Grenadier Squads -165

3 Grenadier Squads -165

2 7.5 CM PaK40s -105

3 StuG G -285

Anything else that I can add as i continue, is this effective, and how can I use this army, Any tactics at all would be helpful. -Feasible

You have a start of an army, typical play is 1500+ pts.

Good thing about Germans is infantry is infantry in pretty much all 3 periods just maybe get some light mortarts/AT rifles for the earlier periods.

Things I would add if you intend to play German grenadiers at standard play levels:

1-2x more pak 40s to make it a full 3-4 gun platoon depending on the force list your using.
4x Marder II or IIIHs
Nebelwerfers/10.5cm artillery/15cm artillery- pick a battery you need some type or artillery/smoke - perhaps nebels and one of the other batteries as well.
Grenadier mortar platoon
Air support- either HS129s or Stukas 87G w/cannons

These will get you a solid starting force that is playable and fairly decent. Shoot for getting a total of 8 platoons so in defensive missions you get 4 platoons on the board when your half on. Which is what the mortars are good for gives you a cheap off board, or extra smoke support if you have to attack.

Ok, thanks. How competitive are germans?

Germans are probably one of the most competitive, with Brits/US second, and Russians third.

This is for Late War, at least.

Hrm, actually as to competitiveness....

In the last year the scales have tipped considerably towards the Western Allies. Germans are still good if you know how to use them but in raw list power the Western Allies have a decided edge.

Currently things look more like this in Latewar:

#1 USA
#2 UK/Canadians- mainly canadians due to their specials
#3 Germany
#4 Soviets
#5 everyone else- Romanians/Hungarians/Finns an such

I play Germans pretty well exclusively in tournaments and am pretty decent but the above is really the current power levels of just the list. Now FoW is a game that requires alot of skill even with the good list. So even though Germans arent exactly the most powerful lists they can still win and win decisively when played with skills and the right list build.

If you want to get good play alot and see what works for you and what doesnt. Play style and how you use your list will determine how well you do. This isnt 40k and no list really trumps another as its very heavily skill reliant. A veteran player can take a somewhat subpar list and still beat a less skillful player with a top tier list.

A third infantry platoon would help, either Grenadiers or Pioneers. If you can take a third Grenadier platoon and upgrade it to White Pioneers in the list you're using, it would probably be worth it. It's an infantry list, so you don't want to short yourself on the infantry. I generally consider 2 full platoons in an infantry company to be the bare minimum. Grenadiers are cheap too, so it's not that hard to fit a third platoon in, and having that third platoon will help you keep up the momentum if you ever have to attack or make a big assault.
