So I'm wanting to start a new space marine army when the new codex comes out and I was thinking of using the Storm Wardens color scheme as I like it, Unfortunately I'm a bit worried that it might be too similar to my friends Ultramarines, So I was curious, Does anyone have any ideas of how to further seperate them? Any alterations to the Storm Wardens color scheme that would set them appart from Ultramarines..? For those that dont know of the Storm Wardens you can see their color scheme here http://wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Storm_Wardens

Well from the link you've posted it looks at though at least 1 shoulder pad and the legs below the knees are a silver/grey colour. That difference alone coupled with trying to freehand or find decals of their symbols would make them stand apart from ultra marines.

I think they look quite different as is.

I'm thinking a darker blue for them.. My friends ultramarines are Macragge Blue I think.. So maybe Kantor Blue..? Seems to be quite a bit darker.. And then.. Umm.. What color would be good for the silver..? Leadbelcher maybe..?

If you want to change colours at all, I'd rather recommend a lighter shade of blue. Storm Wardens, so perhaps a light, somewhat greyish blue? Something between the current colour and the Space Wolves, if you get my drift. Something that says "air". Might look neat with the secondary colour.

Also, I'm fairly sure that's supposed to be white rather than silver? (unless you prefer the latter!)

But like the neatly dressed cat mentioned, I think they look different enough already to tell them apart. That they look somewhat similar is actually a bonus, as it hints at a potential connection to the Ultras. You and your friend could make something out of that. 2v2 with allies?

Well, Both the drawn image and the model photo uses a silver grey color rather then white, I dont care what the text says, I go by the images (And think it looks good) And I say darker blue because during Storms the skies tend to be dark, Not light..=P

Though, another color scheme I realy love is the Flesh tearers.. http://wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Flesh_Tearers Looks awesome.. but they are a blood angels descendant chapter..

Ooooo.... Then again, Looking arround some more, These guys look cool http://wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Silver_Skulls Anyone know how to get that dark steel color..? (Maybe Leadbelcher brushed with Nuln Oil or something..?)

Upon taking a closer look at pictures on FFG's website (who invented this Chapter), you are probably right. It looked rather white from afar, but I can definitively make out a metallic reflection here.

Still, skies during a storm are grey rather than blue.

The Fleshtearers have a rather cool and tragic background, by the way. They're essentially a condemned Chapter, just a step away from being excommunicated and purged, and with half the Marines being berserkers who are at risk from turning into frothing cannibals at a moment's notice. Chapter Master Seth seems to be one of the few sane guys left, and he spends day and night thinking of a way to save his boys from their impending doom.

Here is some background on them from an old Index Astartes article in WD #251.

Also, totally not related to a DW character of mine, but I heard from a reliable source that the Celestial Lions have a very cool and unique colour scheme!
