Played this list last night against a Magnus jack heavy list. What do you think?

It is using the Searforge Commission Merc Contract

Gorten Grundback +7
-Grundback Gunner 3
-Grundback Gunner 3
-Grundback Gunner 3
-Grundback Gunner 3
-Grundback Gunner 3 (yes 5 of them)

10 Horgenhold Forgeguard 8
10 Horgenhold Forgeguard 8
10 Hammerfall High Shield Gun Corps 8
-Hammerfall High Shield Gun Corps Officer and Standard 3

total it 42pts (35+7)

I know it's rather Ctrl C-Ctrl V, but my main army is the Rhulfolk and I don't have any non-Searforge models in my Merc army.

A focus 5 caster with 5 jacks that should be casting spells just about every turn? What could possibly go wrong.......

Put it on the table and see how it does. Not being sarcastic just curious to see how it works on the table.

I did play it yesterday. With no Driller, Strength of Granite wasn't necessary, and there was a wall to hide behind, so no Rockwall. The guy was playing Magnus so I did throw up ?Solid Ground until he shot both the Renegades, then let it drop.

I ran the gunners in waves. I sent 3 forward early game and held the other 2 back until the front 3 were either disabled or engaged. I used the Forgeguard to hold the flanks and had Gorten in the middle of the High Shields.

the list actually looked pretty well. Gorten's extremely high warjack points along with the cheap gunners allows we to put a lot of models down on the table compared to most opponents.

Hey man I think the list is awesome. I myself actually ran something very similar for a little bit. I ended up switching my list around and giving Gorten two gunners and a driller because I find his spells absolutely amazing and a must cast. On the other hand, I'm running a highborne list with the one guy that allows me to upkeep a spell for free so it really helps out with his low focus.

I do think you have enough of a beat stick to deal with jacks. Your forgeguard are amazing, but I wonder how you would do against Khador or someone else that has super high armor. How are the shield guard working out for you? I have a unit but have only run them once or twice.

With the UA the High Shields are awesome. It's expensive but with the double time order and the second shot with the mini-feat, they are very effective.
