Since varnished with Windsor and Newton acrylic matt varnish and metal work dry brushed with Humbrol Enamel no. 11 silver. Unit insignia decals and big white stencilled numbers for the shields to be applied when the whole companies finished.

The scheme is intentionally very plain due to his the fluff he's written for his company, I wanted to do the shields in 1980s Berlin armour camouflage but he vetoed it. Sniff.

The chain boarding cutlasses were from the scouts Storm landspeeder or cut down from full sized chainswords. The models are covered in grenades and melta bombs from bits and kits.

Forgive my ignorance, as I'm not familiar with the model catalogue, but where are the shields from?

I think they look great though! Nice smooth paint job and I love the idea.

Link to the fluff?

Before all else, be armed

Cheers! The bits are from Forge World

As to the fluff for the lascutters and graviton gun etc its in one of the Badab War Imperial armour books FW print.

Yeah since I've been spraying the base coat (always use Humbrol Enamel French blue for this colour) and two thin top coats of GW acrylics the figures I've done for him look a lot better.

Ah, sorry, I don't game myself so am a bit hazy on the terminology . So far the fluff is just a mass of printed off and hand written notes and the odd sketch.

As far as I can make out and in brief his legion has been whittled down fighting itself that only two large companies are left , one to be modelled as newly turned chaos and the other as a loyalist unit that is also being hunted by the inquisition and so is more self contained than the norm, heavy on anti daemon and anti armoured infantry kit.

Currently I'm working on the loyalist unit and when that's done will be doing a Chaos command section and a bunch of chaos sergeants and what not so the majority of chaos company will be the same as for the loyalist one. The doors on the Rhinos etc are on magnets so he can swap in suitably adorned ones. Having limited funds It gives him the option to fight any army his mates field. They tend to fight on a points basis rather than sticking to the codex so I can get away with converting stuff when I get bored!
