Do those last few points matter?
Yes. If I am playing a 2k game I MUST HAVE 2K.
No. I'm not going to sweat being at 1995 instead of 2k.

How hard do you guy focus on getting your lists to exactly 2k(or whatever point value)?

Do you start taking random upgrades to fill out points, or make some squads smaller so you can take a larger upgrade to make you hit 2k?

Do you even care as long as you get within 5-10 points, but still under the agreed limit?

I wont go butt-headed into every last point. but I WILL try to get them. as long it will not harm me to do so.
I wont cut something for another I need less just to get the last point, I WILL shove things I'm not sure I'll need or even remember.

can neither confirm nor deny I lost track of what I've got right now.

When I have under 50 points left, I will always try to add some upgrades.
Melta-bombs, upgrading pistols, taking power-weapons or combi-weapons are a great way of filling up those points.

I will get as close to the agreed upon point limit, even if that means the last 5-10 points are taken in upgrades for extremely corner case things (that i usually forget in game anyhow, lol).

But yeah, i definitely fall into "as close to agreed upon point limit as humanly possible".

Unless I'm something like 20 points off of a good upgrade with 10 points left to spare, I won't drop any models. It's just the principle of the thing, you know?

Honestly, when I've tried to add in that last 10 points of wargear to fill out the list, I either don't remember or it's such a pointless upgrade that it never comes into play, like a power weapon on a long fang squad or melta bombs on a rune priest. So nowadays, I'll generally just ignore the last couple of points if I can't find something that's actually kinda useful.

As tau i drop firewarriors without a thought if my elites/heavies dont add up right. Unless youre doing an ethereal tactic theyre pointless anyway since they just die and run away without an ethereal/a good amount of bodies.

Orks, nope i just sit there. I only reconfigure my list if im off by quite a bit and i cant add anything where it'll even matter. Ive dropped an entire list in the past because i was 50pts off the cap and literally had nowhere to put it somehow. That was frustrating lol and its even after adding 'eavy armor to Nobz in boy squads which i normally dont do. 5-10pts really doesnt matter for orks since the only upgrades at that cost you already have if you want them at all (rokkit upgrades for instance, you dont take them unless you want it for a reason). 'Eavy Armor on Nobz is pretty much pointless except against random sergeants, which the nob beats anyway.

An ork with an idea tends to end with a bang.

No, not really; a few points under is fine.

That said, if it's a competitive list, I will spend a bit of time seeing if any parts of the list can be tweaked to fill up spare points by shifting round upgrades, changing squad numbers here and there etc.

I like to get as close as possible (without going over), but I'm not going to obsess over it.
If I have spare points, and I can buy something to fill up the last few, I'll take it, because you never know when the item will come in handy.

If the thought of something makes me giggle for longer than 15 seconds, I am to assume that I am not allowed to do it.
