I have been constricting a nurgle marine list for a while now and i really like how it looks. Ive decided i want daemon allies for a second daemon prince and a guo but I'm torn on the troop. I was thinking a squad of plaguebearers to ds with the guo but people are telling me they are bad. My question is if infiltrating some nurglings to be with the guo would be better?

The GUO cannot ever join or be joined by any other models.
1) He does not have the IC rule, and so cannot join units.
2) His unit always consists of a single model, and so cannot be joined by ICs or anything else.

As to your question, Plaguebearers vs Nurglings, there are a few things to consider.
Plaguebearers and Nurglings both are made to hold objectives. They don't have enough attacks to be assault troops; they have Shroud to give them a good cover save in terrain. So they shouldn't really be running about the field. Add to that S&P, and they aren't that great at assaults.
As to the points difference, Nurglings are 15pts a base, which is 4 wounds, while 'bearers are 18pts for two wounds. Plaguebearers, though, are T4, and with only one wound, ID doesn't matter. Nurglings can be ID'ed by anything Str6 or above, so frequently their W4 doesn't even matter! And they're swarms, so blasts/templates do double damage! Ouch!
At S4 T4, with Plagueswords, I would say that 'bearers are the way to go. They can hurt anything in the game, which makes them much more adaptable than the Nurglings.
If you have some points left over at the end, you might buy some Nurglings. But overall...not worth it.

One thing to note, nurglings cannot score nor contest nor get linebreaker, they are a distraction or speed bump nothing more.

I know The guo can't join i just ment have them near. The main reason i have daemons is for the prince i just really like the guo, should i just say screw it and use a prince as the hq then something cheap for the troop i need? I really like guo but the more i talk to people the less viable he seems

But if they are listed as troops, why cant they score? Any unit but empty transport can always contest & get line breaker.

Because they are Swarms, read the rules for the swarms and the rules for scoring and denial units.

Well, you can always make some interesting objective markers with them! Model the nurglings swarming over a Marine or Guardian in terrible death throes, and then say that Papa Nurgle needs to retrieve the disease he was testing on the hapless enemy!
