Hey all,

I'm considering purchasing a Chaos Space Marines army off of Craigslist and was wondering what I would be looking at point wise. Wasn't sure if I should post it here or just in the general forums, so if I'm in the wrong place just let me know. Here's what the ad says is included:

4 10 Man Chaos Space Marine squads with 1 Lascannon and 1 Plasmagun
1 Chaos Lord
1 9 Man Chosen Chaos Space Marines with CC weapons
1 Rhino for the Lord and his retinue
2 Predators with Twin Linked Lascannons and Lascannon sponsons
1 Basilisk
1 Chaos Defiler

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

Anrakyr

If you don't know the points...do I assume then that you don't have the Codex?

Because if you had the Codex, you could figure the points yourself easily. And without the Codex, you can't really play the game.

My advice....

I don't have the Codex right now so that's not an option.

Then I would say you have somewhere between "a decent amount" and "a lot"

Seeing as you can't actually play without a codex it's kind of silly to be writting an army list.

You clearly didn't read the entirety of my post. I didn't "write an army list", this is what is included in a lot on Craigslist that I am thinking about purchasing. I wanted to know roughly how many points worth of minis is there before I buy it so I know if it's a good deal or not. The lot includes the codex, but that means I can't look at it until after I buy the army...

So what is the issue? Its obviously someone old army which means its large enough to feild as is. Further more a lot of points go into upgrades and wargear that isn't really visible in anyway. So having someone go thru their codex and calculate all the numbers isn't really possible.

The possibility of being 1500+ depending on wargear etc. (Excluding the basilisk which he must of had from a 4th edition CSM army)

Basilisk indicates 3.5ed csm dex. Are you sure you are getting a 6thed dex?

Thanks for helping out as best you could everyone, but I decided to pass on the lot for now. I had some concerns that this may not be as good an army as it seems if it's all from previous editions.
