Situated in the (relatively) peaceful agrarian East Sigma system, Carolingia is a typical Imperial farmworld - great open pastures, endless orchards trailing seemlessly through sun-drenched valleys, and vast manorial estates adorn the third planet of East Sigma. But Carolingia is no sleepy meadow, for its citizens live in a system of feudal owndership - the aristocrats own the land, while the workers are tied to the land and work it on their Lord's behalf. While the people sweat and toil in the production of goods and foodstuff, the lords of Carolingia are devoted entirely to warfare.

Trained from the age of 6 in strength, teqnique and tactics, every aspect of a Lord's life is devoted to battle. Young lords (knaves), when they are not practicing combat with their fellows, are used around the manorial household for manual tasks to teach them the value of hard labour, and older recruits act as battlefield assistants to a senior lord that they might learn the act of battle and leadership.

In the Carolingian PDF, the Lords of Carolingia unite to lead the men of Carolingia in their countless crusades against the orks that infest the equatorial continents, or occasionally campaign on neighbouring worlds who need the expertise and discipline that the Carolingian pdf is famed for.

tldr; knights in space.

"The Lords of Carolingia are immensely wealthy - even by the standards of the upper class of the Imperium. But such is the martial warrior culture of the world that most of their wealth is devoted to personal warfare. Ancient families of Carolingia have large and extensive armouries, full of antique and powerful weapons; and any young Carolingian lord who wanted to prove himself could do no better than to comission a new and powerful weapon from the weaponsmiths that adorn the towns of Carolingia."

Carolingian Wargear:

*Portable Rail Gun (30 points) - Two-handed weapon with the following profile - 60" S8 AP 3 Heavy 2 twin-linked
