Hey all, I posted the very start which was a few of my first Necron warriors, I've got a fair bit more done now, so posting them up for everyone to critique for me. Necrons are harder to paint than I was expecting, for some reason I feel like it's a battle to get the model to really 'pop'. I had particular trouble with the overlord, I just couldn't get on with the model. Enjoyed trying out some new things on the destroyer lord though. Please let me know all your thoughts, and any way you think I could improve, or should change. I'll add a few pics of the warriors first.

Thanks for looking.

Very well done, nice and clean. The colors you got are awesome. The only suggestion I would make is to try and straighten out that scepter. Other than that again awesome job.

Thanks guys. I'd love to straighten the scythe, I did sort it out with hot water but it kept going back. Its also broken so even more difficult to straighten. Its really annoying as im quite a perfectionist when it comes to things like that but I've lost my patience with it. It was a right mess out of the box aswell! Necron scythes do not mix well with finecast.

Very nice, I think the colours work really well.

It looks great, the subtle low effect is spot on in my opinion.

Oh stop complaining, its for the greater good... Now get in the box!

Thanks again.

I purposely chose the most contrasting colour for the bases, I'm fairly happy with them, allthough they look a bit bare on the larger bases.

Anyway, did my first immortal today, as a test, would like some input and suggestions.....

Look great.

The bases do look kind of bare though - how about some dark blue grass/lichen?

Any guardsmen should consider himself lucky to be rendered into meat mist by such a beautiful enemy.

Balance in pick up games? Two people, each with their own goals for the game, design half a board game on their own without knowing the layout of the board and hope it all works out. Good luck with that. The faster you can find like minded individuals who want the same things from the game as you, the better.

I love them, and the bases are excellent. A small amount of yellow static grass/horse hair might break the monotony, but then deserts are monotonous...

Great job with the painting man.
Also I was wondering if you could post the blue shades that you used in this as i'm starting a royal court soon and want to give the individual lords/crypteks different glows.

They look really good!
I was actually planning to use red bases for my new Night Lords army but wasn't too sure if it would look good. Well, looking at your models, dark blue with lightning and red bases look very good together .
One thing I think you could do though is drybrush the bases with an orange (just a little bit though) as a highlight.
Otherwise, great models!

For the larger units like a monolith you should drill out the insides and add blue LEDs, would look amazing.

Thanks again for the comments. The bases do have several different shades and highlights in them, and some have pigments also.

Had a tournament with these guys this week and placed 4th, they're great.

Love the LED idea and will probably do it at some point as it will look great. I'll have some more pictures for you all tomorrow, the first immortals are done, I've also finished a lord and a cryptek, and I've spent the last 2 days working on my first nightscythe with scenic base.

Thanks for looking!

Ok as promised, here are my latest models. I really disliked the cryptek model, so it isn't my best paint job, and will be creating my own crypteks from now on!

looking really sweet. I absolutely love the hexagonal patterning on the flyer. Did you use a template with an airbrush I assume? I also love the white skull on whichever HQ that is. Have you thought about perhaps adding that effect to your immortals? As your immortals do look really sick and the current painting is very good, but I feel its missing something to perhaps draw the eye? Not too sure what, but I am drawn to the idea of a change in head colour. So perhaps a skull effect, or simply a different colour such as a gold/bronze, or even markings? Not entirely sure, I just feel that with something else they will really catch the eye.
