Dear brothers,

beside of my main army project I'm planing to create two 500 pt. armies based on the dark vengeance box. The aim is to create two well balanced armies so that I'm prepared to invite someone for a small game at home.

Due to the fact that my playing expirience is pretty not existing I'd like to discuess the enhancement of the following army lists with you:

Space Marines

1 HQ

Space Marine Librarian

Note:
The mentioned miniatures are fixed to due the fact, that they are part of the dark vengeance box and / or I like their style. If i made mistakes with the weaponery please feel free to correct me. I'm able to modify miniatures but this should not be the focus.
I will not play Dark Angels Marines, because my main army is Dark Angels-based. Therefor I will clean of models from DA iconary and replace the shoulder pads. But I truely like to have a Khorne based army; Unfortunately I dislike the contained cultists. So I have to find another gab filler for that.

I think the sm needs scouts or a 2nd tac squad to complete the 2 troops req. The chaos needs two troops aswell, despite you not liking cultist, they are all you have got until you buy csm which can be converted to plague, noise, or MoK (needs bunny ears to be full kb).

Use the chosen as your champ for csm squads.

You will need another troop for the marines, which i think is a DA thing. or you can do the white scars but then you need a captain on a bike.

I forgot to mention that I will stick to one standard. Otherwise it would be pretty hard to squeeze squats into the list. And of course I will buy miniatures to enhance the lists.

So you think of dropping the Chosen squad and use them as champions for standard squads instead?

Thanks for the idea to play as white scars but to be honest I dislike SM bikes in WH40K. They seem outdated in my opinion.

Well trade the bikes to someone for a tac. squad.

A few tac squads on both sides... or if ur goin khornlord I would add bazerkers for troops

Thanks a lot for you ideas. To meet the "2 Standard" requirements I decided to use my 6 man chosen squad as normal Chaos Space Marine Squad (2 times).

Can you pls give me a hint if these both lists are balanced?

On CSM side I focused on plasma weapons and meele combat / on SM side i added 2 Rhinos
