Played against afrotau's nids tonight for their first ever outing. After a couple of straight games we escalated to planet strike, and I need to shae this with you...

I played dark eldar and took defense. Set up a little fort in the board centre. Along comes the initial bombardment.

Targets my warriors, scatters misses.
Targets my raider, scatters, hits a grotesque. Fnp saves it.
Targets my archon and grotesques. 2 grots take a wound and my SF shorts out.
Targets another warrior squad, scatters and misses.

Rolls for deep strike as follows, needing a 3+ for everything.

Hive tyrant, fail.
Gargoyles, fail.
Mawlok, fail.
Genestealers, fail.
Rippers, fail.

No enemy unit on the board at the end of his turn 1, dark eldar win without even firing a shot or taking a casualty

I would have at least let his rippers come into play.

We carried on, he got to reroll (and funnily enough just his rippers came in, they then proceeded to quiver behind an ADL).

STILL counting it as a win though seems as he's floored me with his tau so much, I'll take anything lol

It gets worse we played a ' pergure the alien' missio and two planet strikes all 750pts each and in total all my kill point put together total 3 one slay the warlord one raider and one unit of warriors

I actually forgot one CRITICAL piece of information! One of the hits actually skimmed the raider (didn't miss and just get the grot as previously said). It got a penetrating hit and afrotau rolled weapon destroyed! On a one gun gun-boat! So I actually had a raider tank shocking mawloks and gargoyles for an entire game as it had no other offensive capacity
