The Crusade of the Ophidium Gulf (998.M41) - A smaller Crusade was launched by Castellan Raimer, the master of the Black Templars' Strike Cruiser Ophidium Gulf and its company of 90 Black Templars, into an unexplored region of space in the galactic south called the Veiled Region by Imperial stellar cartographers. The Black Templars inadvertently made contact with the Fallen Angels, the hunted Traitors of the Dark Angels Space Marine Chapter. While in the Veiled Region, they came upon a small Dark Angels fleet. The Black Templars' capture of one of the Fallen Angels, and their refusal to turn him over to the custody of the Dark Angels, nearly led to open conflict between the two Chapters. Outgunned, Castellan Raimer reluctantly turned the prisoner over to the Dark Angels before he departed the Veiled Region. The ultimate fate of the Ophidium Gulf is unknown, as a single astropathic communication from the starship was received just before it prepared to make a Warp jump from the alien system, and no further communication has been received by the Black Templars from the starship since then.

Simple question....

Do you think DA "made them" disappear or you have a different oppinion ?

Theories ? Will this lead to a beef between these chapters ?

ADB: I showed the Wolves revealing the key weakness at the heart of the World Eaters; showing Angron that his Legion was broken and worthless compared to the others; that he was the one primarch who couldn't trust his own warriors, and that they didn't care if he lived or died; showing that loyalty to brothers and sons is the heart of success for the Legiones Astartes, to the point even Lorgar makes a big deal out of saying the World Eaters and their primarch were massively outclassed by Russ, and Angron was too stupid to see the lesson Russ had sacrificed time, sweat, and blood, to teach. We're talking about a battle the Wolves won, by isolating the enemy general through pack tactics, and threatening to kill him, without a hope of defending himself. It was a balance, 50/50 - Angron overpowered Russ, and the Wolves were losing ground to the World Eaters; but Russ and his warriors had Angron by the balls, and barely broke a sweat. They won, no question. Lorgar even says: "The Wolves won, meathead."

Dorn won’t help you either. He’s too busy being the Emperor’s groundskeeper, hiding behind the palace walls. The Wolf is too busy cutting off heads as our father’s executioner, while the Lion holds on to his secrets, and has no special fondness for you. Who else will come? Not Ferrus, certainly. Nor Corax either. Even as we speak, I suspect he flees for Deliverance. Sanguinius?’ Curze laughed cruelly. ‘The angel is more cursed than I. The Khan? He does not wish to be found. So who is left? No one, Vulkan. None of them will come. You are simply not that important. You are alone.’ Konrad Curze to Vulkan

The Dark Angels made them disappear, it seems pretty clear. The WD (312) article on the Ophidium Gulf Crusade never mentions him as a fallen, just a space marine clad in black. Here is an excerpt of what happened after the discovery, Korbinian was the BT leading the assault:

Since the figure was a Space Marine Korbinian stayed his hand and relayed news of his discovery to Castellan Raimer, who bade him link up that they might return the prisoner to him for questioning - a descision Raimer soon had cause to regret when the Dark Angels discovered what had happened. Though High Marshal Helbrecht has had no further communications with the Ophidium Gulf Crusade, he has grave suspicions as to its ultimate fate...

Seems pretty clear with what they mean by the ''regret'' of Raimer and the ''grave suspicions'' of Helbrecht. The BT probably know, but dont have any/strong evidence against the DA. If they werent hunting Ghazghkull and being drawn in to the 13th Black Crusade Helbrecht might have acted on his suspicions. But now isnt the best of times for internal strife on the level of the Badab War (both chapters are zealous and a tad crazy, wouldnt end well).

Sorry for my spelling. I'm not a native speaker and a dyslexic.

Come now, DarthMarko. Do you honestly believe that brother marines, a First Founding Legion/Chapter no less, would have any hand in that unfortunate event? After all, Warp travel is such a fickle matter and accidents DO happen...

Due to copyright, no, he can't.
