Subject: Need Help With 35 Khador Army List vs Cygnar/Menoth

I'm kinda new to Khador and been playing against a friend who has Menoth had some serious trouble against his armies. But, he's changing over from Menoth to Cygnar which might make things easier for me no more holy fire from templates destroying my WG but with 10 times the shooting might lead to other annoying things. So figured I'll get a head start on things and ask for some advice and get a list ready. Also while helping try to keep the list open to fighting other armies too but cygnar is 99% of the time what I'll play against.
I don't mind buying a few things but here's what I have so far.
Khador:
Warcaster: Sorscha, The old witch
Warjacks: Juggernaut, Destroyer, unassembled multi model (demolisher, devistaor, Spriggan)
Solo: Jozef Grigorivich, Manhunter, Yuri the axe, Widowmaker Marksman, Kayazay Eliminator Unit, war dog,
United attachments: winter guard officer & standard, winter guard infantry rocketeers (3),
Troops: Windowmakers, Winterguard Mortar Crew, Man of War Shock Troops (5), Winter guard (10)
So yeah any suggestions of something fun and useful. I'm leaning towards buying Winter Guard Field Gun and maybe a few other things but nothing really set in stone. Any advice with dealing with Cygnar? Also I'll post back with some of the other armies in the area when I'll find out what they are. I know they exist just haven't played against anyone else yet.
Also for kicks I have a small trollblood force if you think they would be more "competitive"
Trollblood:
Warcaster: Madrak Ironhide, Captain Gunnbjorn, Borka Kegslayer
Solo: Troll Whelps, Fellcaller,
Warbeast: Troll Axer, 2x Troll Impaler, Diretroll (unassembled blitzer, bomber, mauler any I was thinking bomber)
Troops: Trollkin Champions
EDIT: So other armies in the area is Ret and Merc.

First things first. Welcome to Dakka. A few things I would recommend, when you can pick up a unit of IFP and the Kovnik. They have really good chances of surviving the gun line. And the Kovnick will make the Man O Wars usable as well. I'd also look into pIrusk, but OW and eSorcha are great casters. I'm a huge fan of the Spriggen and Devastator models but that's what magnets are for. Here is a "decent" all comers list with pIrusk. Kommandant Irusk (*6pts) * Spriggan (10pts) Great Bears of Gallowswood (5pts) Greygore Boomhowler & Co. (Boomhowler and 9 Grunts) (9pts) * Koldun Kapitan Valachev (2pts) Iron Fang Pikemen (Leader and 9 Grunts) (8pts) * Iron Fang Pikemen Officer & Standard (2pts) Lady Aiyana & Master Holt (4pts) Widowmakers (Leader and 3 Grunts) (4pts) Eiryss, Angel of Retribution (3pts) Fenris (5pts) Gorman di Wulfe, Rogue Alchemist (2pts) Manhunter (2pts)

AGH that list, you dirty dirty man. It just gets so much worse as you scroll down and see gorman in there. pIrusk is a great caster for any occasion. I usually run him with one high arm unit (IFPs) and one high DEF/low damage unit (Winterguard or Kayazy). His ability to both boost defenses of a squad and/or add damage dice to a squad is a fantastic combo. Spriggan is lethal with him too.
My suggestions: dont bother with the field gun, cygnar will tear it apart before it does anything useful.
As far as assembly: Magnets are easily the best way to assemble heavy jacks. I suggest Neodymium rare-earth magnets. They have extremely high pull force for their size (the highest I believe) and they dont loose strength over time the way other magnets do. Link:

I use 1/4"x1/8" or 1/8"x1/8" for heavy jacks - the 1/8x1/8 have a pull force of almost 1lb each so they are way overkill for this. Just drill a small hole deep enough so the magnet sticks out slightly. You will need to test fit the depth so you dont have gaps in the joints. Score the opposed sides with an xacto knife so you dont glue them in with opposed poles. This will let you swap your jacks out for whichever one you need to run. It also lets you adjust your jack's pose whenever you want and makes it much easier to paint them since you can paint them when they are disassembled and dont have to worry about the glue not holding to a painted surface. Automatically Appended Next Post: IMHO, if he has the WGDS thing already, you might as well use it. WGDS and the IFPs makes a solid combo with pIrusk and will do reasonably well against cygnar gun lines. Longgunners, for supposedly being such skilled shooters, have terribly RAT and will have a hard time hitting your WGDS without CRA.

I agree somewhat about the WGDS they are fantastic and I own and use them. My thoughts in the the list I made is that between them and the IFP models start getting in each others charge lanes, Getting into position on the first turn can be a pain ect. The big reason I didnt include them is that the list needed another unit or two that could crack armor, so I put the GB+Fenris in there.

Manhunter (2pts)
I like this list I for use of the widowmakers dunno why but their one of my favorite units. Wish didn't call for IFP kinda hate how high priced they are. But it is what it is I suppose. I might try to get them in here in a month or so.
What about getting more man o wars shock or bombers or whatever. or going doom reavers?

IFP aren't cheap but it is a lot of white metal. Add on the time it takes to redo the pikes and its an investment in time as well. However it is worth it.
