Looks good, the only thing I ould change is SOTWB for Saga of the Bear, as you don't want 250 points of wolf lord going down to a lucky force weapon or medusa shot.

HQ: Rune Priest (+100pts) Chooser of the slain (+10pts) =110pts

HQ: Rune Priest (+100pts) Chooser of the slain (+10pts) =110pts

Remeber these have to be different in some way, so either keep one with book powers and one with codex, or chuck a WWT on one. Personally, I would take one rolling on divination, and one with JOTWW (riptides are only I2) and Storm Caller. Put the Divination one with the Long Fangs, and the codex one with some GH.

Troop: 10 man Grey Hunters Pack (+150pts) Melta gun (+5pts) Second melta gun (free) Rhino (+35pts)

looks good, but if you can find the points then fill out one other squad to 10 men for the extra melta (see below for my suggestion on how to do this). Also, to better compliment the fast-moving element of the list, I think you migh be better served with Drop Pods, as you can get into melta range faster, and then charge at the same time as the TWC, or provide fire support for them, while the Long Fangs hang back and kill.

Fast Attack: 5 Thunderwolf Cavalry (+250pts)
• #1 has a Storm shield (+30pts) and a power fist (+25pts)
• #2 has standard gear
• #3 has a Storm shield (+30pts)
• #4 has standard gear
• #5 has a wolf claw (+20pts)

Here, I would drop the wolf claw, as you sacrifice an attack and rending, and AP3 will still bounce off TDA and the like. This frees the points for the extra GH and free melta.

Heavy Support: 5 man long fang pack (+75pts) 4 have missile launchers (+40pts) =115pts

Heavy Support: 5 man long fang pack (+75 pts) 4 have lascannons (+100pts) =175pts

Good solid Heavy Support, can't go wrong here really.

Overall, this is a good competative list, and all I would change is the Saga on the WL, the Transports for the GH, and drop the Wolf claw for a extra melta. Other than that , you're good to go.

Remember not to put the itemized points values on everything or else Dakka wiill get in trouble with GW.

A power fist is superior to the frost axe and costs the same. Why take S7 when you can have S10 for the same price? Saga of the Warrior Born is a waste on this guy because you will NEVER fight a second round of combat. If you haven't killed the whole enemy unit on the first round of combat, then there won't be enough models left in the enemy unit for your extra attacks to be needed in the second round. You're better off with Saga of the Bear for eternal warrior, or saving the 35 points.

Another thing to think about is this. The Wolf Lord is one of your very few models that has initiative 5. Do you really want to waste that by taking an unwieldly weapon? One option would be to take the Wolf Claw instead of the Axe/Fist on your wolf lord, but then take a power fist in the TWC squad. This way, you have the 4 S10 attacks from your stock TWC, but you'll still strike first against the squad with your Lord.

On the other hand, if you expect to fight a challenge with your lord - or go after big beasties with him, then you may want to keep the power fist.

HQ: Rune Priest, Chooser of the slain
HQ: Rune Priest, Chooser of the slain

First of all, this is illegal because of the "Leaders of the Pack" rule. Your RP's need to have different wargear options. Second of all, in order to use your points most effectively you should really stick to just two character models - your wolf lord and one more. Otherwise, these guys are a good choice.

Troop: 10 GH + 2x Meltaguns, Rhino
Troop: 10 GH + 2x Meltaguns, Rhino
Troop: 9 GH + Meltaguns, Rhino
Troop: 9 GH + Meltaguns, Rhino

This is solid although I personally would give them each a standard and or MotW. But this is good.

Fast Attack: 5 Thunderwolf Cavalry
• #1 has a Storm shield, power fist
• #2 has standard gear
• #3 has a Storm shield
• #4 has standard gear
• #5 has a wolf claw

This is illegal. Only one model can have a special weapon per TWC unit. So you have to choose between the wolf claw and the power fist. I recommend taking the PF.

Heavy Support: 5 LF's + 4 missile launchers
Heavy Support: 5 LF's + 4 lascannons

Do you have enough models to make the second squad all missile launchers? Because the Lascannons are really over priced. Consider that you could take the missile launcher squad with a razorback for the price of the 4 lascannon squad.

I also wondered what people thought of a terminator wolf lord with a wolf guard terminator pack? Im looking at something like this
lord (100) terminator armor (40) thunder hammer (25) storm shield (15) saga of the bear (35) total 215

4 wolf guard in termie armor (132) one with TH and SS (30) one with pfist and combimelta (15) another with a combimelta (5) and a drop pod to put them all in (35) total 217

This would replace the twolf cav and the lord and would drop pod in while the rest of the army races up in rhinos? Or landraiders in

I suppose the question is which is better for the points?

The answer to the question, "Which is better for the points?" is "It depends."

It depends very heavily on who your opponent is and what kind of list he's playing. My advice is to stay away from terminator models until you have at least 30 Grey Hunters. At that point, a unit of terminators would be a nice addition.

As for a general strategy, I would think that it should be ALL drop pods or no drop pods. This of course depends on what models you have. I personally only own 2 drop pods - and thats why I rarely use them. But you'll probably find a consensus on this forum that the most competitive SW armies are drop pod lists with lots of Grey Hunters, 1 or 2 Rune Priests and IG allies with 1 - 2 Vendettas.

Fenris

It looks pretty solid
Personally, I prefer half of my grey hunter squads to be equipped with plasma guns. It adds a bit more anti troop, so you've got balance between anti troop and anti tank. I've never liked how expensive wolf lords are, so typically I like to just use runepriests (but that's just me)
I like the thunder wolves, they add some threat, and with the storm shields they'll last decently long

Exercise the Space Wolf way, "If there is a fight, we fight it"
