The Twilight Zone

Move your chooser to your bike priest, as the prescience priest won't be shooting, but the bike priest will.

Not a huge fan of the power fist in a GH squad, but if you like it keep it. The WG should probably drop the fist for challenge purposes. Take a power weapon instead, or have MOTW.

The razorbacks will be empty, correct?

Suicide speeders are ok, but they will die once they get close. Typhoons can stay away and dakka, keeping them alive.

Why the 3rd wolf guard? A solo model won't do much, and if you really want something solo a lone wolf is better. That said, I would drop em and try to spend the points elsewhere.

The most important rule of 40K-Page XVII of the 6th edition rulebook, the figure at the top right of the page. "Shake hands with your opponent and thank them for a good battle and fun experience." Then go out for a beer.

My only concern with this list is the lack of bodies. With under 20 scoring models at 2000 points, most horde armies could easily wipe your troops out, leaving you with no units to capture objectives. To be honest, I would cut some points on the WG and maybe drop a Rune preist, and get at least one more GH squad.

I can't speak from experience running Wolves (just starting them now, actually). But from running a semi-horde IG list I can say that the lack of bodies and therefor guns, would make this list easily countered.

One tank is smashed by the numerous long range anti-tank options available to every army. But I see the point in fielding it anyway. Wolf bikers are sort of meh, if only because of their gimped stats. They're a nuisance sure, but again if I dedicated any heavy weapons to dealing with them, they're toast.

Never had an issue fighting speeders, dakka ones are another nuisance, but they die to pretty much anything taking notice. Not sure about the 5x HB Long Fangs, it might be worth dropping that squad in favor of more GH bodies. GH's can counter horde units via shooting and superior melee abilities, so the more the merrier.

As an aside, I play against an Ork player and Nid player in my local meta. They're both fond of mass bodies, and as an IG player I can answer almost model for model. But when i watch the SM players deal with them, generally the more standard marines walking onto the board the better. Terminators are good an all, but with Wolves I think you're better of aiming for a higher GH count and rely on their nasty shooting coupled with MOTW or JOTWW.

Thanks for the commnets.

- As for Wolf Guard - doesn't it is required to take at least 3, and then attach some of them as Pack Leaders?
- As for Bikes - i just need them as cover for my Rune Prist with JAWS
- I can HB Fangs and take squad of GH plus spend some points on an extra Dreadnaught or a basic Predator

You do need at least 3 WG, but personally I would drop them entirely for another GH squad, I've never found a time where I wished I had a character in a GH squad, immunity to challanges is nice, as this is one of the few units capable of a truly hidden PW (except from precision shots).

The Jaws RP would be better in a drop pod, in range from T1 potentially, and can go with GH for defence. The bikes really add very little to the army, and are an expensive bodyguard.

As I say, more GH is what's needed here, and preferably at 10 men, to take maximum advantage of the free special weapon slots. A basic predator is not the best choice, and a Dread is situational.

This exactly. No where near enough Grey Hunters in this list.

I can see that you like the bikes, but against horde lists I don't think it's a good choice. Your points would be better spent on troops. Same goes with the Vindicator. One pie plate isn't very scary at all. If you're going to rock'n'roll with Vindicators, you need to take three of them - two minimum. But then you can't take advantage of the Long Fangs. So...drop the vindi to get more long fangs. Another squad with 5 HB's is perfect for crowd control.

You don't need 3 rune priests. Two is more than enough and the wolf guard will have trouble paying for themselves.

The land speeders are kind of meh. They were great back in 5th edition when you could zip onto an objective on turn 5 and deny it to the enemy. But now vehicles can't score so...The flamers are cute, but I think you could just take a squad of Grey Hunters with flamers if you want the templates. Or put one flamer in every GH squad if you're worried about being charged.

As for Wolf Guard - i like them for an extra mark of the wulfen and a LD boost. But they can be droped for a pack of Grey Hunters.

The leadership boost is nice, but not crucial. MotW is wasted on a wolf guard model though. Putting MotW on your wolf guard makes him the precise equivalent of a grey hunter with MotW - you lose the best thing wolf guard have going for them (2 base attacks). Why would you do that?

The best thing about wolf guard is that they have access to excellent wargear for really cheap. For example...If you take a power fist on a Grey Hunter it costs you 25 points and you only get 1 attack. But on a Wolf Guard, a power fist is only 20 points (with power armor or 15 points with TDA) and you get 2 attacks base. So if you want a squad with a power fist AND MotW in it, then you should give the Wolf Guard pack leader the power fist and give one of the scrubs a MotW.

Compare this unit
Spoiler:
9 Grey Hunters + MotW, Wolf Standard
1 Wolf Guard (in power armor) + PowerFist, Combi-weapon
(203 points)

to this unit
Spoiler:
9 Grey Hunters + Power Fist, Wolf Standard
1 Wolf Guard (in power armor) +MotW, Combi-weapon
(208 points)
The first unit actually has one extra attack at S8 and costs 5 points less.

One other thing....

You don't need to kit out ALL of your squads for close combat. Sometimes it's better to just stand there and shoot for the whole game. You can save a lot of points on a grey hunter unit by not taking all of the nice goodies.
