This was tailored to fight a mech BA list, but could probably work vs another mechanized army. No matter what happens, this is going to be a brutal fight for the 'Guard. The fight is tonight, I'll post results if I have time.

This list looks good, an interesting combination of power blobs and mech guard. The only suggestions I would make to make it better for a TAC list is to find the points to upgrade to PC sponsons on the vanquishers, the better range and more effective Anit-TEQ/MEQ and MC fire will probably ouweigh the usefulness of the MM against anything but a mech list. Maybe drop the camo netting on them, as without an ADL it is far more situational.

So I just finished playing this list. I think, on paper, this list was a great match for the BA mech list that I fought. However, my opponent made a few very smart moves and won the game.

We played Hammer and Anvil, and I drove my Vanquisher tanks up the flanks, and ran the infantry blob up the center. I lost the game early on when he used Mefiston to take out one tank, and multi-melta bikers to take out he second. Then he used deep strike to remove my basilisk, and 2 Storm Ravens and 2 dreadnoughts each to kill off more than 40 men from the blob. After that, I was too weak to make a comeback.

I could have kept my tanks back, or in reserves. That could have helped, because losing them so early on was disaster.

Camo netting is very expensive. If you're buying it, you really ought to be using that to full effect by remaining stationary and in cover whenever possible.

agreed about the camo netting. Try taking an aegis defense line and putting cammo netted tanks behind it. A standing 3+ cover save isn't a bad thing!
