I'm pretty new to the hobby and am putting together a 35 point list for my Journeyman League for when we can play without battlebox requirements.

I have:

pDeneghra +5WJ
-Deathripper 4
-Deathripper (or Nightwretch) 4
-Skarlock Thrall 2

Bane Thralls Max 8
-UA 3

Bane Lord Tartarus 4

Satyxis Raiders Min 5
-UA 2

Pistol Wraith 3
Pistol Wraith 3

That gets me to 33/35 points and I really don't know what I should add. I still have yet to buy the 2nd Pistol Wraith and a Nightwretch.... and I'm not sure if running 2 Deathrippers, or 2 Nightwretches or a combination is best. The Nightwretch gun seems pretty good at clearing infantry.

Some options I guess are:
Satyxis Raider Captain at 2 points getting me some super powered Raiders with huge threat range and pathfinder. Skarlock puts ghostly on Banes, madness happens.
Master Gunner Dougal MacNaile cause he is shooty with the Pistol Wraiths.
Gorman, cause Gorman!
Warwitch Siren since she is all around good.
Or I can upgrade my jacks? I'm not even sure if 2 arc nodes are a real big requirement.

Thanks in advance for any comments or critiques and advice!

I'd go with Gorman or the Captain, with a slight leaning toward the Captain.

That's what sorta thinking also. Just being able to rip up the board with raiders advance deployed and moving at 12 inches while on charge with a reach is silly. Power Swell, Deneghra feat, stuff dies.

But Gorman and a Wraith getting hits can shut down a model for a whole round. Decisions!

2 points? Warwitch Siren. Every time. She is one of the best toolbox solos, along with Gorman and Eiryss.

But with the Raiders are MOANING for the Captain. I'd go that way.

Other than that, I feel like this list needs a heavy 'jack. IMO.

I'm not sure about the PWs honestly. Maybe one would be enough? That would leave room for the Siren.

And to answer your question, 2 arc nodes are almost always required with Denny. Her spells are just that good. And since they are upkeeps, once she puts them on enemy units, your arc nodes can die and it won't really hurt you.

Well, I WANT a heavy jack, but honestly. Slayer is sort of the only thing I can jam in here at the cost of maybe downsizing the Bane Thralls, and if I'm going to put a heavy in its gotta be Nightmare or Deathjack. I've learned playing battle box that Denny loves the gak out of her focus.

I can however take out a Pistol Wraith, put in a WW Siren, and get my Raider Captain. That leaves me with out point to put on a Necrotech. And yeah, I agree. Every time I play I love having two arc nodes to split the flanks and 1 will always get around to dump crippling grasp and parasite on the enemy Warcaster. So taking a Heavy Warjack really isn't an option at 35 points. Beside, Tartarus, Thralls, and Raider Deathstar are more than enough to wipe the floor on a feat turn if I have to burn their army down.

Fair enough on the heavy jack. I just love running the Combine with Denny, which almost always means a Reaper as well.

When Aiakos comes out you better bet I will be using a Reaper or a Leviathan. I guess I could use a WW Siren to fuel if I downsized and moved some stuff around. Really, I just don't feel like painting any more units or buying a bunch of stuff. :/ Just tweeaaaking.

I gave it some thought and I think this list should give your opponents fits.
pDenny -5
2x Nightwretch 8
Skarlock 2
2x Siren 4
Pistol Wraith 3
Wrongeye & Snapjaw 9
2x max McThralls 10
2x Necrosurgeon 4

Flood your opponent with the Thralls and reanimate what you can. Hang one back so the unit isn't annihilated. You've got the tools for a ranged assassination, but you can also attrition them out as well.

I can certainly work towards this, but I would have to buy the NecroSurgeons, McThralls, Wrongeye/Snappy, 2 sirens AND the two N. Wretches. Then model them, then paint them. I saved this list in my editor, but wooooeeee it ain't happening anytime soon.

The thing about that list, is it is all stuff you'll want anyway. Multiple casters use a lot of those models in their lists. The McThrall are amazing with pSkarre and Ghaspy1,3. Nightwretches are my go to arc node, and most caster want at least one. Wrongeye & Snapjaw work well with any caster that does not want to give out focus. And we have quite a few.

For your current project, I would try to get two sirens in there so you don't have to give out any focus.
