Hmm, I'd need to see a picture, but if it's just Guard, I would do a base of Dwarf Skin (Vallejo) or Ratskin Flesh (GW), then wash with a skin wash, then what I do is a 1:1 mix of Dwarf Skin and Elf Flesh, watered down quite a bit, and then carefully paint that on as a highlight, leaving the darker areas where the wash has settled. If you then want to do some stubble or something (for your HQs, I doubt anyone can be bothered to do this on 886 guardsmen), mix some Dawnstone and your Ratskin flesh in a 1:1 ratio, and then water it down depending on how thick you want the stubble to be.
The more watered down the more recently he'd shaven - But be careful not to water down to much, you might get it into the crevices otherwise.
Hope this helps!

Do you mean the July issue?

I have it right here, and according to the painting guide it's:

Basecoat - Bugman's glow

Wash - Reikland Fleshshade

Layer - Cadian Fleshtone.

Hope that helps.
