Is it allowed to keep units in Reserve even though you rolled a 3+? I could imagine bringing a small scoring unit on the board to run to an objective when all of your opponents ranged units are locked in combat. But that wouldn't work if you rolled them to come on turn 2.

I searched the rules boards but couldn't find an answer to this, I'm sorry if this question has been asked before.

No. The reserve rules are not optional - once you roll you MUST deploy

Not exactly... Descent of Angels lets you reroll *failed* attempts. If you've already succeeded, you still have no choice.
