An Eldar List I'm working on for a 1750 tournament coming in a few weeks. Constructive Criticism welcome!

+++ Mear Movar (1750pts) +++
+ HQ +
* Farseer - Eldar Jetbike

+ Troops +
* 5 Dire Avengers
* Wave Serpent - Holo-fields, Shuriken cannon, Twin-linked scatter lasers
* 5 Dire Avengers
* Wave Serpent - Holo-fields, Shuriken cannon, Twin-linked scatter lasers
* 5 Dire Avengers
* Wave Serpent - Holo-fields, Shuriken cannon, Twin-linked scatter lasers
* 3 Windrider Jetbikes
* 3 Windrider Jetbikes

+ Fast Attack +
* 8 Swooping Hawks
* 8 Warp Spiders
* 7 Warp Spiders

+ Heavy Support +
* Fire Prism
* Fire Prism
* Wraithknight

This needs to be a TAC (Take All Comers) list as much as possible as it is going against a plethora of foes in the tournament, including a very competitive Tau force or two. I was debating on swapping a fire prism for a night spinner just for that reason, but I'm not sure. I plan to play test it this week, but I'd like some opinions on it before I even play it out. Let me know what you think.

Well, I'd add more Serpents. They are the best bet in an Eldar army. A single Fire Prism should be enough. Swooping Hawks improved in the new edition but they are still not worthwhile in a tournament setting.

Better, but now your sear has nowhere to go... Make him a laughing sear with MOTLG. Get some poi to for this by taking away warp spider exarch.

He's going to hop around with the warp spiders. Mantle is worthless against tau

I like the second list much better. I'd suggest dropping one unit of Spiders in favor of two Windrider Jetbike squads with Shuriken Cannons.

Can't Battlefocus with the seer in the unit. Take the first list, drop both the Prisms for another WK, Combine the Jetbikes into one unit for the Farseer, drop two hawks, buy some cannons on the bikes, Exarch s for spiders.

2nd list is definitely better if you're looking to be competitive. Its similar to the list I'm running. only thing I would change is drop the exarch upgrade on the warp spiders to get another man in the squad and put you at an even 8 for both squads.

@halfpast_yellow - Seers have battlefocus.

I only own 1 Wraithknight, so I cannot add another. Also, I'm not worried about battlefocus on the warp spiders who will be guarding the farseer.

i only own 15 warp spiders, so that will hing on if i can get another model. lol Also it is only 1 shot difference and it gives the farseer a challenge blocker should the situation arise where one is needed.

is the second list better than this?

Well, I like this list. The WK is just for the fear factor. Otherwise, I'd include 3 Warwalkers with dual scatterlasers. More bang for the bucks.

Curious, why the ghostwalk on the prisms? And why Autarch with no need for reserve manipulation?

What if you were to replace 1 serpent with a 6 bike squad, with 2 SC, a warlock, and swap the Tarch for a Seer. Mobile, somewhat robust buffing platform.

But does having a jetbike (which cannot run) prevent the whole unit from running? I really am not sure.

The autarch will be killed by shooting.

The farseer on bike can hide behind LoS blocking terrain and buff the wraithknight, much better use the mantle and outflanking kroot wont kill you / hide from the rest of the army.

In my mind prisms are not as good as warp spiders.

Cannons on Serpents are going to be snapfiring on turns you use your shield so you may or may not want to take them.

Small jetbike squads are the king of last turn objective grabbing. For almost no points you have units that can hide most of the game and last turn contest/capture objectives at 36 inch range, you might look into grabbing 2 squads.

Im not at my computer with a list builder, but i would suggest drop prisms, 1 wave serpent, autarch, cannons on serpents grab 10 warp spiders, and 2 jetbike squads, farseer with mantle and spear(if 5 random points left), and a nightspinner. If leftover points Holofields. Cast rerolls from divination and eldar powers on the spinner and the wraithknight and go to town.

The MEQ spam can work but im not conviced that prisms are good enough.
Also nightspinners v.s. tau are very good as most of the troops are in the open v.s. barrage and etheral's hate barrage snipe. Also you can snipe drones off of riptides and broadsides to cause LD checks which murder tau faster than shooting.

Other options are 6 bikes 2 cannons attach farseer, attach warlock get conceal.

Depending on how serious you are, what the meta is, and what models you have, forgeworld has some of the most broken MEQ out there the new rules for warp hunter and especially hornets will wreck peoples days.
